Ok I am human, but some buddhists see everyone as a buddha or bodishattva, some people think I am handsome, others may believe that I look tired and ugly. Maybe for some i am an inspiration, and for others a pest... precisely because I am an inspiration.
So is faith required of me to know what I am like (unto you etc...) because I can never access the mental image you have of me? What are the limits of free faith, to presuppose and invent what I believe you see of me? Or, to be "me".
Sartre said the "other" fixed us in their gaze. If this true? Is self negotiated, or its it transcendent of opinion and choice?
