I guess it have to do with trusting God, and the knowledge that He is always there giving all we need no matter what situation we are in.

Yes, in a word - confident. I think Paul makes some statement to that effect.

1 Tim. 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Notice that great gain comes with 'God-like-ness' . That means that we must have and move from His mind in us. Like kindness, humility, caring, loving, gentle, and peacefulness.

We must never be content/rest/have confidence in our sins (wrong thinking like worry, fear, frustration, anger) but content in Him.

Blessings,

AOF

Philippians 4 is a good place to start. The issue isn't the circumstances we're in but our focus and motivation. If we're seeking to know and do the Lord's will, it won't matter if we're in the middle of utter chaos. He will show us what to do and He will help us be satisfied through our relationship with Him if we just keep our focus on His will and not our own. I know all too well that it can be so easy to get distracted and start looking at stuff around us to try to find "the thing" that will make us happy, but we can have all the stuff in this world and still be miserable. I know a number of people like that--they have all the earthly junk in the world but that stuff has become an end in itself. They're miserable because they're seeking satisfaction in the latest "toys" instead of looking to Christ. If we're seeking Him first, it won't matter how much or how little we have or what situation we're in. Christ will give us peace and satisfaction and contentment if we focus first and foremost on Him.
