  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Happy Beethoven's Birthday to all my CF Friends!!!!!

For many years it was rumored that composer Ludwig van Beethoven had completed a tenth symphony before his death and that, at his request, the manuscript was buried with him. Several years ago a group of musical scholars obtained permission from the Austrian government to exhume Beethoven's body in an effort to locate the missing manuscript. The casket was carefully removed from Beethoven's grave in Vienna's Zentral-Friedhof, the final resting place of many great composers.

When the casket was opened, the scholars were shocked to see Beethoven holding a musical score in one hand and a large eraser in the other hand. He was furiously erasing the the music.

"Maestro Beethoven," shouted one of the scholars," what are you doing?"

"Isn't it obvious, you idiot," replied the long-dead composer. "I'm decomposing!"

Ludwig van Beethoven, born December 16, 1770, in Bonn, Germany.

LOL!!!!

After he went deaf, he spent little time directing the orchestras and string quartets he was so famous for.

I guess would make him an early semi-conductor.

It is also the birthday of Jane Austin.
