If only you would be altogether silent! For you, that would be wisdom.Job 13:5

Let us meet hard days with less talk and more silence, if only to remind ourselves that this day is not about us, but rather about those around us who need our comfort more than our debates.

When the silence ends, may the next words we speak be ones that invite us to reasonable discourse rather than contentious rhetoric. May we find a unity that seeks solutions instead of scapegoats; seeks service over success; seeks selflessness over self-centeredness.

Let those of us who know the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ be found in the front lines of this search for answers to the hard questions before us. And let the search be found in the verses and wisdom of God rather than the wisdom of us.
