Ty - I've finished this with you in public, and in private. I made the above statement because something you said to me made it sound like a selfish decision which had upset others. So I wanted to make clear to others who you obviously have found are upset with me that I am not holding up the game

Tychicus2.... BE is a friendly place, and I like to keep it that way. For the record, I never expected or intended for your game to stop! I haven't even held up the draw for Wednesday - because you don't even need a system to run this game!

You take a piece of paper, or spreadsheet, with the names listed and numbered, put the number of blessings beside the name... and then run one of the internet random number programs, set to the #blessings received that week to select a winner using the first algorithm I sent you. Simple.

Also, for the record.... I made these concerns known to someone on the forum, who I will not name, but is not who you are thinking.... with the following section of a PM I sent on 16 September :

I have know quite a few ppl when I was younger who were/are gambling addicts, with casinos and horse racing and illegal "bookies" and "underground" casino type places in major cities. I used to "get around" and have seen things that others may not have.

I know several ppl today that spend 20-50 and more dollars a day on the lottery. Not good when someone makes 10 dollars an hour if they are blessed around by me.
Gambling is a problem/addiction that is more wide spread then ppl know, and it is not in the open. It is a hidden addiction. That is until they lose their cars/houses/spouses.

True blessings are not real, but this can lead ppl back to real life gambling who have that addiction.

This can be a horrible and devasting stumbling block.
Even the title of this thread could be dangerous.
I have seen the devastion to others.
Alot of ppl don't think gambling addicts exist or that it is just a weakness.
No it is a real addiction that causes devastion not only to ppl's finances but their families.

Gambling Addiction is serious!
Pray for those that are.

It is a stumbling block.

Thank you Darlene for saying that, and for confirming what my reservations were.

Personally, I don't think a lottery game is good for the forum, and I regret being involved. I've known you for a long time now on the forum, and love seeing you around BE.... so I'm sorry if my actions with being involved in this have upset you in any way, or changed your view of me.

I'm sure that some have played because they've seen others playing and so thought "Oh, well - if they're playing, it must be alright..." And that can carry into the real world too. So I want to be clear of that "being on my head".

this has turned out to be a bigger problem than it needs to be. The point of CF is to get together and fellowship and enjoy each other, not to argue and all this that has happened in this thread.

I understand where you are both coming from, I personally won't play, but that's by choice. You can't help who plays and who doesn't just like any other game. If it's really that big an "issue" than why have any games that have to do some sort of addiction. CF in itself is easily able to become an addiction as a lot of members have forced themselves not to play because of this. You can't help who plays your game and who doesn't.

People are free to ignore me - I really don't mind

I PMd concerns to someone - as I said above way before any other issues I have with Tychicus2.

His reports believe I recruited Darlene above to fight for me. This is not the case at all. And I hope Tychicus2, that you have not now also upset Darlene - because she is a very valuable member of this forum.

Please feel free to take what I say with a pinch of salt... but don't be deceived by any niceness you see in front of the scenes... behind the scenes is a very different case.

Sorry to bring this to the front of BE, which is such a great place on the forum. Probably the best place.

Ty, you know Gregged is NOT here to cause problems. I've never known him (and granted I've not been here as long as some of you) to do so. I've only seen good encouraging things from him, and Yes, he is a good friend of mine, and one I am proud to have in my court. But, you know as well as I do, that this was only a wake up call to him. His convictions were there well before any other issues surfaced, and I know he was troubled by it. He was only doing it I believe to help you out. So, for that you should be grateful. But, you should also not do this like this. Why report the posts?
This whole thing is sad, and you should, as a brother in Christ, do what you know God would have you to do, and let this go. But, you seem to have a problem with letting things go, and proving that you have to be right in all things. There is only one King here, Ty, and that should be Jesus Christ.

I am so disappointed and sad over this whole thing.

What message is this sending to the newbies out there?? to the ones struggling?

If you want to get right down to it, you have equated blessings to money, and then according to that, we can pull scripture from the Bible to support it's wrong.

Bless the newbies, but from another fund that has nothing to do with the lottery. You would not sit alcohol before an alcoholic and expect him not to take a drink..

On second thought, I will say this....

I don't see anything that struck me as needing "reporting". I see disagreement and that is very human. But a "report" does surprise me.

I care a lot about you both and about everyone here on BE. I think my 2 years here will show that. I pray for peace. You are brothers.

Tend to agree on the gambling - is not a good idea to do anything which could cause another to stumble.
But, please brothers, don't make it personal. Cos that also is going to cause problems for others - you are both loved and respected here.

WOW! I am shocked by this turn of events!

99% of you havent been here in the BE as long as i have..i have hung out her for 3 1/2 yrs now and therefore know lots of PAST stuff. a couple years ago i used to run this same type of game here ..we called it weekly raffles. People gave blessings and i pulled "raffle tickets". There was never a problem or concern with anyone about gambling. Blessings arent MONEY! its a fun game just like other fun games in the BE! Some people might think of Beauty Pageants as 'unchristian' yet we sure hold alot of those here!! I am sad to see the arguing in fighting in a place that is all for FUN and fellowship over a GAME! I will be praying for everyone involved! hugs.

I understand what you are saying RTM... and accept it 100% ...but my convictions aren't yours - and I have to do what I see as right - even if the rest of the world is saying something different! No, blessings aren't money - but they have, in the past 2 or 3 days been likened to money. I agree, they are a game - others do not think so. So, I do what is right for what I believe - because otherwise that, to me, would be sin - as the Bible says.

I haven't stopped a game - it can go on easily without my system! I am just not being seen to condone it. As I said before, it's for everyone to individually make up their own mind, and be clear in their conscience - again, as the Bible says.
