Unbelief is a form of blindness.

Truth is in God and truth can only be seen through believing. Satan's tricks is to blind us by unbelief.

Therefore, to avoid blindness problems avoid EVERYTHING that sends you into unbelief. I, for example, stopped watching scifi movies because they made me doubt (become blinded for a moment). It was much to sacrifice because I really loved them. But I love God more than them. So I did it.

And Jesus said something like this: wouldn't you rather cut off your hand which makes you stumble, then with both hands end up in hell?

Faith comes from hearing. Focus on God, on thinking about positive things about God. Focus on thinking about miracles (if that helps) that people experience. Read people's testimonies of how God has helped them.

God of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers. Let's stay away from his blinding tricks and focus on the truths.

Satan's evil spirit has been set free to wonder and deceive us in this world. It is our duty as Christians to become like open-minded police detectives to learn the difference between good and evil. Evolution taught in college and university is one good example of deception. God gave us faith so that when your faith is together with the spirit of Jesus, your protection becomes strong against all sins. Poverty and disease can also weaken our interest in God if problems seem to last forever - it's as if God doesn't answer our prayers soon enough. If you imagine everyone born morally perfect since Adam and Eve were created and they obeyed God and ignored Satan disguised as a snake then everyone today would not suffer unbelief, old age and every other attacking sin-causing disease and violence. God would probably be disappointed in us if one of us asked him why Satan is evil because our holy minds and bodies would have already been transformed not to experience evil.

If you are a Christian (Christ is in you, by faith).

Then you have been connected by your spirit (which is you)
connected to CHRIST (all this is in you) 1 Cor 6:16-17

But you have a sin nature (satans' nature) also in your members
as Paul writes. It opposes everything that is of GOD.
See Romans 7 and Galatians 5

It hates GOD, and hates people, and hates you.

That sin nature (which is satans nature - and we've all been born
with one) always doubts GOD!

It always challenges and says 'Did GOD really say?' Gen 3:1
It is by nature, undermining the things and words of GOD.
Those doubts although we say they are ours, are really not part
of the new creation, and they are the devils own words.

Because deep down, where you are connected with JESUS you
believe, you want to believe.

Now, HE has given us faith (a measure of faith in Romans 12:3) but at times we
get to the end of that faith and just can't see our way. (we can't beleive
any more). What do we do?

Well faith is a gift and a fruit of the Spirit. Being a gift, and fruit, you
can not manufacture it. Don't try to repeat scriptures thousands of times
a day, or try to make faith grow - because its a gift not a wage you earn.

But you can ASK for more.

I've seen GOD heal cancers, arthiritis, rebuke demons yet some of those
things years ago, I would never believe could happen.
They do and more -Praise the LORD!

But leaning on HIM who is faith, and saying "I need more" as well
as rejecting doubt as 'not you'.

Your faith grows.

Also, here are some prayers from Beth Moore's book, Praying God's Word. They are specifically for battling unbelief. You may want to pick up the book. I got it on amazon.com. It has a whole chapter on this subject. Pray these everyday. Especially when you are being attacked by unbelief. And, yes, you are correct. Many go through this.

The prayers:

(Romans 11:20) O, Father, I do not want to miss any part of Your plan becasue of my own unbleief! Please forgive me for any unbelief, and help me walk by faith.

Merciful Father, Your Word also says that if people do not persist in unbelief, they can be grafted back into the fullnes of Your plan. (Romans 11:23) Thank You, God for so often granting the gift of second chances!

Father, so often I feel like the boy's father who first exclaimed, "I do beleive!" then in a flood of sincerity cried out, "Help me overcome my unbelief!" (Mark 9:24) Please help me overcome my own unbelief, Lord, so I can start taking You at Your Word.

Father, I pray that the eyes of my heart may be enlightend in order that I may know the hope to which you have called me, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and your incomparably great power for us who believe! (Eph. 1:18-19)

Father, help me to respond to Your Son according to Your Word: "I believe and know that You are the Holy One of God." (John 6:69)

I have prayed these for you always, and you can trust that these are the types of prayers your Father in Heaven delights in answering with "Yes and Amen!"

Blessings, A

If you are seriously experiencing doubts about your faith, then may I suggest you look more deeply into why your thinking these thoughts and research those topics and why some people might believe those doubts are right, and why some people believe those doubts are wrong. After doing all this, you should arrive to a conclusion that you believe is the best. Hopefully after this, you will be able to live a happy life free of doubts.

My experience was that I explored my unbelief over the course of several years (and still am) and let it slowly, and sometimes painfully, reveal to me what I really believe in, like peeling back the layers of an onion. There isn't anything wrong with the top layers but you need to find the center before you can build upon it confidently. From this process I gained a much better understanding of myself and eventually a very firm belief in God and his infinite goodness and creativity. What are you and where does this belief come from? What do you believe in and why? Are your beliefs justified according to your experience of life and faith? I think that if you begin walking down this path with a little faith in God and a true desire for knowledge then you will find what you seek. Isn't that what Jesus taught us?

Good luck and peace

Think about what belief is. What makes sense in your head, and resonates in your heart, shapes what you claim as your faith. You can't make yourself believe something that you don't, or suddenly take on an entire belief system. Maybe if you want to brainwash yourself.

God is asking for enough trust to move you to the next point. A mustard seed.

If you are trying to make sense of the entire Bible and the entire history of Christianity at once, then it's not going to happen. It shouldn't happen.

What good would brainwashed robot clones be to God? He calls us His sons.
