Also, here are some prayers from Beth Moore's book, Praying God's Word. They are specifically for battling unbelief. You may want to pick up the book. I got it on amazon.com. It has a whole chapter on this subject. Pray these everyday. Especially when you are being attacked by unbelief. And, yes, you are correct. Many go through this.
The prayers:
(Romans 11:20) O, Father, I do not want to miss any part of Your plan becasue of my own unbleief! Please forgive me for any unbelief, and help me walk by faith.
Merciful Father, Your Word also says that if people do not persist in unbelief, they can be grafted back into the fullnes of Your plan. (Romans 11:23) Thank You, God for so often granting the gift of second chances!
Father, so often I feel like the boy's father who first exclaimed, "I do beleive!" then in a flood of sincerity cried out, "Help me overcome my unbelief!" (Mark 9:24) Please help me overcome my own unbelief, Lord, so I can start taking You at Your Word.
Father, I pray that the eyes of my heart may be enlightend in order that I may know the hope to which you have called me, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and your incomparably great power for us who believe! (Eph. 1:18-19)
Father, help me to respond to Your Son according to Your Word: "I believe and know that You are the Holy One of God." (John 6:69)
I have prayed these for you always, and you can trust that these are the types of prayers your Father in Heaven delights in answering with "Yes and Amen!"
Blessings, A
