LLOJ meet me on the "other side" and we'll talk.
If baptism were a requirement for salvation then why were people saved before baptism?
But Peter did command baptism in Acts 2, so is Peter contradicting himself in Acts 3?How could He contradict when baptism wasn't even spoken of in the verses I gave you.
The Ephesians "faith" included baptism.Baptism is not a tool but an act.For we are saved by Grace through faith and not of works..
In Acts 10:44-48, Cornelius and those with him were converted through Peter's message. That they were saved before being baptized is evident from their reception of the Holy Spirit (v. 44) and the gifts of the Spirit (v. 46) before their baptism. Indeed, it is the fact that they had received the Holy Spirit (and hence were saved) that led Peter to baptize them (cf. v. 47).What people are you referring to?
As already said baptism is passive, it is in passive voice in Acts 2:38 so it is not something one actively does but submits himself to. One obeys by submitting himself to baptism where God does the work of cutting away the body of sin.Baptism is and act.. For it is a verb and not a noun.. How can a prayer save me? Jesus said all who hear and believe.. Now can I believe without first as Peter having the Father reveal to me what was being preached? No,So when God revealed this to me and I agreed with Him then It was Christ who saved me..
What verse says baptism with the HG saves/remits sins?In Acts 10:44-48, Cornelius and those with him were converted through Peter's message. That they were saved before being baptized is evident from their reception of the Holy Spirit (v. 44) and the gifts of the Spirit (v. 46) before their baptism. Indeed, it is the fact that they had received the Holy Spirit (and hence were saved) that led Peter to baptize them (cf. v. 47).
I haven't added anything, just harmonizing verses. There is not but one way to be saved and if one verse says 'faith saves' and another says 'baptism saves' then faith must include being baptized.Saved' and "cleansed" are equal, and there is but one way to be saved/cleansed so the Ephesian's faith included baptism or 'washing of water'. adding words to scripture now are we?

One cannot have the Holy Spirit less on is born again saved from Christ.so why were they baptized ?
Peter was sent to them, and it was not Peter who preached to them, but Cornelius had been living a God-loving life
(I don't find the verse that says they were "saved", though)
MamaZ, If I may ask, where (or from whom) did you learn all that you know concerning the scriptures?

LOL don't know what happened but the only part of that post that was mine was adding words to the scriptures.MamaZ, If I may ask, where (or from whom) did you learn all that you know concerning the scriptures?

One cannot have the Holy Spirit less on is born again saved from Christ.the Holy Spirit is the seal.
For scripture shows us this..
1Jn 5:10 The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.
1Jn 5:11 And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
1Jn 5:12 He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
1Jn 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
We do not see here anywhere about being baptized to know if you have eternal life.
