Yes. This is the way I understand it.

Firstly, let me congratulate you on receiving Holy Baptism.

Secondly, however, let me carefully point out something: No where does Scripture say that Baptism is an "outward showing" for the people of the church. Rather consistently the New Testament points to Baptism as God's means of uniting us to His Son and bringing us into the household of faith.

To phrase it another way, Baptism isn't something we do for God or for the Church, instead Baptism is something God does for us. Baptism isn't simply a funny religious ritual, there's an actual reason for it and for why Christ has given it to us.

Baptism isn't a human work, it's a God work. Baptism is God's grace for us.

I say this, not to confuse you as I know your church teaches differently, but I really want to help offer you the traditional Christian understanding--this is what Christians believed for two thousand years and what most still believe today. It's also, we fervently argue, what is explicitly taught in the Bible. We baptize because God has promised that through Baptism He will forgive us our sins, unite us to Jesus, and make us righteous before Himself--and this is His grace alone.

As far as the thief on the cross is concerned, if Jesus wanted to make an exception and allow him into heaven without being baptized, then He could certainly do so.
Agreed, though I don't believe it was an exception since the thief on the cross was saved before Christian baptism was even instituted. Prior to Jesus death on the cross there is no mention of Christian baptism whatsoever, so the thief wouldn't have had to have been baptized. (The baptism of John the Baptist is not Christian baptism which was administered for the first time on the Day of Pentecost as recorded in Acts 2).

Baptism wasn't need after Jesus died for us. He baptized us in his blood and washed away all of our sins. I am not saying that if you want to get baptized it is wrong, it is just not necessary after Jesus died for us!! God Bless!!!:):):)

Acts 2:
37 Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call.

You are baptized with his blood when you repent. Meaning you are baptized with his forgiveness what He did for you on the cross!!

They were baptised in vs 41
Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added [unto them] about three thousand souls.

As the eunach was below

Acts8:36 And as they went on [their] way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, [here is] water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

Look up what Baptized meant in the Greek since the NT was written in Greek and not some online lexicon a legitimate one!!

Pretty clear in acts 8:36-38

& as a guide
Mat3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

You still don't understand what I am saying!!! We are baptized in Christ's blood!!! That is the NT version of baptism, again I don't think if you want to do it, it is wrong, but it is not needed!!!

Agree with everything apart from
".. but it is not needed"
It is the ordinary form.

Avelina, what do you think "baptized" meant in the Greek? I ask since I see nothing that Panevino has said that would violate the meaning of the Greek word "baptizo" and is cognates.
