This is making my brain hurt. I thought I understood this stuff.

I thought that when you were saved the Holy Spirit entered into you and became your God consciousness...and pretty much sent up warning signals when you were doing something ungodly or sinful. I didn't even know that some people call this baptism of the Holy Spirit. weird that I wouldn't know that.

And, What is Baptism by Fire? I've always been confuzzled about that one. It sounds pentecostal to me.
Well, just remember that the Nicene Creed (and all other Creeds) are not infallible.

The pentecost and baptism by the Holy Spirit and fire are both biblical concepts, not just Pentecostal ones. Certain modern expressions of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are Pentecostal concepts.

You are right about the rules of CF and where you can and cannot post re:- the Nicene Creed.

He siad whosoever believes on me shall have eternal life, it is then commanded to be ye baptised. Sounds simple doesn't it? It is.

James
Yes, I know that this site is using the Nicene Creed to determine Christianity. My point is that the Nicene Creed according to the Bible isn't what determine Christianity.

The event of being baptised after salvation is not what makes you a Christian.

Yes, salvation is easy. And following in obedience with baptism is simple. But that isn't the point of this thread.

God bless. And thank you for your participation. :)

:D Yes, I know. I've read the Bible (a few times). Yes, I know, I was born and saved in the First Assembly of God church. I only became a Baptist 10 years ago. ;)

Doesn't mean that I understand what baptism with fire is though. Scarey concept if you ask me. I wonder if it coorelates to the Catholic belief in pergatory or in what I've read in some unorthodox scriptures about the decent into hell.

My pastor has never touched on the subject from the pulpit either. Considering how he tends to re-touch on a lot of the same topics...(like titheing) it makes me wonder "why hasn't he?"

Sorry...questions only lead to more questions. Yep...that's how my mind works. It would be nice if a question just lead to an answer wouldn't it? Nope. No such luck in this life time...no sir ree Bob. :D
