• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I was recently banned for life from a Christian website, for no particular reason other than making reference to a particular boypart and implying that the poster was allot like that. However, fundamentalists on that site are allowed to utilize every derogatory name known in reference to homosexuals and others they see as evil and vile. Can anyone tell me why the double-standard? BTW, the site is www.theologyonline.com. My user name is kalel29 and password is preeti if you would like to see the infractions.

Christian websites tend to be very insular and EXTREMELY hostile to outsiders. I've done an audit for personal curiosity of over fifty Christian websites and chats and I was run out of every single one, the quickest one was five minutes after logging on.

I went in under four different guises, one as myself, two as an atheist, three as a Christian who was having doubts about his faith, and four as just a regular Christian. I only responded to questions put to me and didnt make any attempt to rile anyone or cause any problems and yet I was still kicked out. Most were run by moderators who treated their job like it was a holy comandment from God and that Stasi tactics were acceptible as long as it got rid of the different ones. In most places I was forbidden to preach (Which I understand) or even to TALK about my faith.

CF is really the only place where non-Christians can interract with Christians online and not be totally handcuffed. One reason that I think its so important that CF be preserved and that Non-Christians be given a piece of the decision making process, because everywhere else is going to treat you worse.

My advice, stay out of Christian chats anywhere else on the net

The only other place I ever really talk is christianchat.com, and there I was banned 3 times, though unbanned after a lengthy disucssion.

Now I simply never talk in the main chat room about anything even remotely religious unless one of the 'good' moderators is online at the time, and I always clearly point this out in the logs so that other mods cannot ban me (they do not ban you if another mod saw your actions as they feel it is his/her turf to ban or not)...

Though yes, even when the rare occasion does come when I talk about religion, I am often still treated with discust by many members, and I especially remember one member giving me a lecture about how atheism has no morals and how I should repent on the spot. He pointed out that he has had a personal experience and knows many others who also had ones of jesus talking to them. After all this I asked the simple question "Such experiences happen in all religions, for instance I know someone from islam who also had a personal experience with allah, why should I trust you over them?" and the response was "I am not here to listen to your filth, go take your nonesense elsewhere" and they left the chat room.... yeah....

Makes me glad I stumbled on CF for debate and not one of those other sites, though I would have likely left since you can only talk to a wall for so long before becoming bored.

Some people think their viewpoint is the only one and they don't want it threatened or challenged. Guess that is why they make those type of chat rooms.

Was banned from RaptureReady 3 years ago. I told this one couple to stop shoving their relationship in my face. Loved bigtime by the group there, they didn't want to ban them after our fight, so they sacrificed me.

A couple weeks later, my friend was banned for trying to state that Wicca is not a Satanic religion. He got the smiley face ban followed by his IP being posted across the net.

After my high school experience, Christian fundie forums were the next sign I felt that made me realize I was very different from others.

I've never been one for censoring. But on Christian websites, there really shouldn't be any cussing, sexual innuendo, or calling of names.

As for the calling of names, if God's Word has not referred to people as such, there should be a refrain from doing so.

This board is the WORST for censoring what you guys refer to as fundamentalists.

But as I have said to many a mod, you can save the "we will ban you" threats. The Gospel will be preached.

If people are running around trying to see what they can and cannot say, it tends to make for fake conversation.

Let folks be real. Most people recognize that there are certain nono's in a Christian Forum, like the cussing, and adhere to those.

But when you nickpick and take away essential freedoms of speech, why should anyone speak?

So am I. When I stop and think how I managed to discover CF, it still makes me laugh... but I'm glad nonetheless.

Same here. I took a look at theologyonline.com and I found the forums extremely boring. But then I find any forum that does not allow dissenting opinions to be uninteresting. I find the Christians who run and moderate sites like those to be the biggest wusses ever.

TheologyOnline, FreeConservatives, and Teens4Christ are real easy ones to get banned from.
Have you seen the rules at Teens-4-Christ? You can apparently get banned simply for debating with them and proving that most of their beliefs are bunk.

Most of the people who try to register on T4C are rejected by weird ol' Bro. Randy because he finds their user names suspicious. He claimed to have reported FSTDT "to the FBI" for trolling his site for quotes.
And some Christians laugh at me when I say that they are completely harmless....

No joke?

On what charge - exposing some of the bunk that gets posted there? If you don't want to show up on FSTDT (which I love. It's partly why I registered here), don't write something ridiculous.
