Pew: 37% of Republicans and Republican leaners would like to see a primary challenge to Trump in 2020. Pretty substantial. Previous polling in IA and NH shows the number in those states supporting a challenge about ten percentage points higher. Public Expects Gridlock, Deeper Divisions With Changed Political Landscape

Well, it is good to have people challenge you in politics ( no matter their party or office).

Bad News For Trump: Almost Half Of Republicans In Iowa And New Hampshire Want Him Primaried

The 2018 Interims have made it abundantly clear to Republicans that Trump is a "lost cause" - they can either "abandon ship" in the hope that they can distance themselves before 2020 or "go down with all hands!"

37% of all Republicans from Iowa and New Hampshire doesn’t constitute nearly half of all Republicans from those two states. Have you ever known any American politician to get elected with a mere 37% of the vote? It’s closer to one-third, not one-half.

It's a bigger share than those of Iowa and New Hampshire democrats who opposed LBJ for a second term. So yes, significant.

I've known one recently who got elected with 46.1% of the vote. But his support has fallen considerably since then. LBJ looked at better numbers than Trump has, and realized that even winning the primary and the Iowa Caucuses with that kind of opposition, meant almost certain defeat in the general election, backed out.

Is there anything about the GOP that you like? Are you so biased against conservatives that you think we're all evil?

There are still a few republicans who haven't bowed down to Trump. Hopefully, from that, the party can continue to be an American political party.

If you think Trump and his cronies are conservative, you have no idea what a conservative is. Barry Goldwater or Ronald Reagan would have made short work of the idiot in the White House.

You’re in denial regarding the extent of Donald Trump’s popularity. You want to see him fail, but support for him is strong. No doubt that Trump will be remembered as one of the greatest American presidents—and to see this fact troubles you deeply. Why are you so mad at him?

Well, let's take a look...

Real Clear Politics' average of all polls...
Down by over 10 points currently, even with Rasmussen's listing 49 approval. Everyone else has him down by double digits.
RealClearPolitics - Election Other - President Trump Job Approval

Not so good, um? Support for him has markedly weakened, after the child abuse issues and the drubbing he took in the midterm elections. In Montana, he put his popularity on the line, visiting three times trying to help the republican candidate for Senate. He failed; Montanans ignored him and voted for democrat Jon Tester. Trump has reason to resent Tester:

Trump targeted Tester for defeat after the Democrat made allegations public that derailed the president’s Veteran Affairs nominee Ronny Jackson in April. The allegations against the White House doctor included drunken behavior, overprescribing prescription drugs and fostering a hostile work environment. Jackson has denied the accusations.

You want to see him fail, but support for him is strong.

If you think 40% is "strong."

No doubt that Trump will be remembered as one of the greatest American presidents

Americans disagree with you. There's a lot of good reasons for that. To see this fact troubles you deeply. Why are you so unwilling to admit the fact?
