baby fever

My baby fever has been escalating lately!! Fortunately, I'm in a situation where we will probably start trying fairly soon (the plan is to start trying in Aug. 2004).

I need to stay away from the Parenting forum though...I go over there and read stories about people's kids and then I don't even want to wait until August...lol

Is it normal to have baby fever? Sure. Am I feeling it right now? No. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever had "baby fever" persay. I've had "toddler fever". However, that being said, like everyone else has already mentioned in this thread, when the time is right, you will be blessed with the baby of your desires

Heh, every time I start thinking I might want to have children someday, I spend a Saturday in WalMart and I stop thinking I want children someday The "idea" of children is, I'm led to believe, quite different from the "reality" of children.

Nope. I went through it when I was about 15 or so, and got over it quickly. I'm still over it.

At times I've wanted to have a baby of my own... but then I saw my cousins growing up and I changed my mind. Kids drive me nuts.

no you are not crazy to have the fever. its natural, a part of maturing. Let God take the forward step for you. Do what you feel that is right to be done, finish what needs to be done to get you ready for life, ask God for assistance and guidance and heck if you need prayer dont hesitate to drop me a line.

Small children irk me. But one time, nature kicked me with her big fat boot and shouted "GO GET PREGNANT! It'll feel GOOOOOOD!"

I wish I could relate to the baby thing, but i can't. I never have been able to. I hope someday my attitude changes, but as of right now, I could care less if I EVER have kids. I like not having to share my husband and our time. I'll just say that I'm very selfish, and don't want to give things up for a crying screaming baby. I was never around kids growing up (my mom didn't think it appropriate), and I'm sure that has a lot to do with my atittude, but if I never have kids I really don't think I'll be disappointed. I've never even had TWINGES of wanting a baby...and the thought of being pregnant literally makes me gaggy...

It's probably just not your calling. Some Christians aren't meant to be parents. There are some things God wants us to do that don't include the work of parenting.
