Automatic or Manual?

I'm just curious what type of car you drive right now.

Poll coming up...here are a couple bonus questions:

~ Can you even drive a stick? If so, do you like it?

~ If you don't know how to, do you want to learn stick?

I can drive both. Right now I have an automatic, but I wouldn't mind a stick for my next car; it probably gets better gas mileage and it's probably less likely to be stolen or car jacked.

I have 2 sticks and an automatic. My wife and I prefer sticks, but they don't make many vans with them.

I made my kid learn on a stick, and now he prefers them too!

The cars I'm driving are automatics...and honestly, I'd rather stick to auto. Manual seems a bit too complicated to me (like, I don't think I'm coordinated enough to work it), but my kid bro just bought his 1st car (a manual) and said I could use it to learn. I figure I'll learn it and see how I like it...but as of right now, I'm liking my automatic.

I have an automatic. I know a bit about driving a stick but I don't have much experience with it.

Automatic.

I learned to drive a stick when I was a teen, but I hated it. I don't want to think about gears and shifting and pedals when I'm driving. GAS = GO ; BRAKE = STOP. Works for me.

Manual, always manual. I drove someone's Semi-Automatic once and it was horrible. *shudders* No idea why people would choose automatic over manual.

My current car is automatic - it takes a lot less effort to drive (especially in a traffic jam) but I still prefer driving manual. The control and response is much better in the latter

I drive a manual transmission. It was actually my only requirement when I went to purchase. My last car was an automatic and when the transmission started slipping it was HORRIBLY expensive.

I drive a manual (stick). Most people in South Africa do. Everybody learns to drive a manual here. You have to do your drivers test in a manual.

I've drove an automatic when I lived in America for a while. I think I prefer a manual.

Drive a truck with a stick. Frankly, I prefer the standard instead of an automatic.

I drive automatic. I would like to learn how to drive stick, but I can barely drive automatic without almost getting in an accident. I can only imagine how much more concentration and coordination it would take to drive a stick shift. I'd probably either brake the car or myself.

Automatic. After my disasterous first time dirving a stick I learned to drive on my grandmothers old 5th avenue. Ironically, I never have had a problem driving other things with manual driving like four wheelers and gators.

I can drive stick - that is what I learned to drive on from 14 yrs old and up
- I don't like stick shift because it just ends up being to much work
