CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
Australia's fires PRAYERS NEEDED

Yesterday and today have had milder weather which helps the firefighters. Some areas in Victoria had some light rain also, not that it had any affect of putting any out, but we are thankful for any.
By Thursday it will be dangerous hot conditions again.
Smoke is over much of the state.
My friends Aunty who is 80 and lives on her own has lost her house and her two cats ran off when she was evacuated so she couldn't take them. I think that she is being taken up there today and I pray and ask for prayer that she finds her cats have survived. It would mean so much for her to be reunited.
Many communities are still cut off and waiting to be evacuated.
The navy has been evacuating by sea, the defense forces are all at work, many firefighters have to be flown into areas as well as people flown out because so many roads and highways are blocked.
More than a million hectares burned in Victoria.
It is expected that the Victoria fires will join up with the NSW ones.
Kangaroo Island off South Australia is 1/3 burned and have lost half the 50,000 koala population.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for granting a reprieve for so many across the country, we trust in your holiness and wisdom, that your plan is good and perfect, and your holy and righteous ways be glorified. I pray for your mercy for a lost people, for all those victims of these terrible fires. I pray for your mercy also for all those animals suffering with burns, for the earth which groans, Father give them peace and rest, make streams in the wilderness and restore creation to your image. In Jesus name. Amen.
