Just a media organization in the UK attempting to meddle in our politics by injecting fake news into this country. Have we learned nothing yet???
In this case, I think you are probably correct. In the comment section under the article, there is a comment written by 'Sally' who's family is involved with RIOT. It's worth reading, imo.

Doing a little research I found that RIOT is an acronym for 'Righteous Invasion of the Truth' after a song and album by Christian singer Carmen.
There are also several churches who have RIOT youth groups, they are not 'survivalist' groups or churches.

Dangerous chemicals? Like mixing baking soda and ketchup to make running lava?

From the article in the OP:

"RIOT was set up and named by home-schooled children of high school age in Pflugerville and their families. The group’s events, which also included archery and water balloon fights, included up to an hour of Bible study."

I'll fully admit I haven't paid attention to the case. Did he belong to some terrorist organization...or did he do these bombings to further some sort of political agenda?
Good question. But I do notice that if someone commits an act of violence after following a group of Islamic terrorist sites they are immediately labelled terrorist, but is the same true if they come from the alt-right instead?

As to this particular case, we need more evidence.

Well...I honestly don't know of a case where a terrorist just "followed" some Islamic terrorist sites, but feel free to point one out if you've got one in mind. Every case can think of involving terrorist sites has the subject actually communicating with terrorists...or attempting to...or praising them.

After reading a couple of articles now, it appears that this kid expressed some pretty conservative anti-terrorist views. He also expressed that he believed he was mentally ill (which is difficult to self diagnose). So the totality of the evidence so far seems to suggest he had no terrorist ties and there's seemingly no political motivation...so, in spite of what Daniel Jose Camacho thinks...it would be wrong to label him a terrorist at this point.

As for being from the "alt-right"...having conservative views doesn't make someone a terrorist.

gonnie, that article is strange.

christianity is the only religion which is social accepted to bash. left-wingers and liberals all over the world calls christianity a violent religion and that christians are bad people, the left and liberals do not call out other religions for being violent.

Wow, he was so anti-Terrorist he blew people up! Would you be making the same excuses if he’d blogged about mental illness and been named Mohammed?

Islamic fundamentalism can be violent and is horrible. Point disproven.

Yes islamic fundamentalism. But that is not the same thing as blaming islam or muslims. Left and liberals blames christianity as religion and christians as a group. Thats a huge difference, how can you not see that?

Hardly. I've seen plenty of cases when Obama was president where he would say, "We should not jump to conclusions" when someone with clear Islamic ties committed a terroristic act.

Excuses? I'm just repeating info I got off Huffpo...

Why would his name matter? (I don't actually know his name btw...it could be Mohammed for all I know/care).

Last I checked, the left and liberals has many Christians, who oppose violent Christian extremists. You have your Bill Mahers who hardly qualify as a representative of the left (but at least Bill Maher is consistent, he derides all forms of religion).

From the Oxford English Dictionary: Terrorism - The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.

What was the Austin shooter's political aim?

Lol whoa whoa whoa....don't start bringing facts into this. We're trying to equate him with 9-11 hijackers here. It's not like we get a white, male, conservative, Christian bomber every day....and we've got an identity politics narrative to push.

not many christians are left and liberals and its not those few christians who are it that is bashing, its the non christians in the left that is doing the bashing. christianityphobia is mainstream with the left.

bill maher is one of few, he is disliked by the vast majority of left-wingers.

Kinda like how when someone drives a van into a crowd of people and before being beaten into submission after being dragged out professes loyalty to ISIS were told that we have to wait to find out their motives?
