Just when you think you have heard it all. A radio program was asked, by a caller, if Adam and Eve had belly buttons! Out of all the questions one could ask about Scripture, sigh. Oh well. This question is right up there when adults ask, and still ask, "Where did Cain get his wife," and "Do our pets go to heaven when they die?"

The carnal man is worthless.

We are all natural people, people of flesh with a sinful nature. None of us had to be taught how to sin, and it's as natural as breathing. We are full of negative traits at birth. As babies, we are self-centered. All babies then learn to manipulate parents by fussing and crying when attention or food is craved. Then we start trying to establish that we are in control by putting up a fight when parents make a move to have the baby sleep all night in their crib and learn how to sleep alone. Some kids turn this into a long-term war. We try hard to manipulate during this time. A battle occurs when it is time to put away the baby bottle.
We display our ease in not cooperating at a young age, especially when being dressed or fed.
After we reach age two, our disobedience is on full public display. When we master the art of walking, we also show that we are selfish and love to fight with our siblings and openly defy our parents. We get into and touch things we are not supposed to, and we know we are to leave things alone. After we learn how to talk, we learn how to lie. As time passes, there will be fights about doing chores, keeping bedrooms clean, homework and bedtimes.
And as the "sweet little angels" begin the school years, they learn how to cheat, talk about others and start picking on and making fun of others. Not all kids are as sinful as others, but the wrong things we do are a part of our inborn, sinful nature.
Even after we grow and learn right from wrong (which has to be taught), as adolescents, teens, and young adults, we continue to sin; only now, with the knowledge of what we shouldn't do, do we now sin with intent. In our world now, as proof of the depth of depravity humanity has sunk to, we have very young kids regularly committing rape, break-ins, beating up people with a group of thugs, selling drugs, committing torture and murder, and murdering family members. I've watched my share of crime shows, and often, when a young person has murdered another, the punk will say, "I wanted to see what it was like to kill somebody." Some teens will kill other teens simply because "I/we don't like that person anymore."

The E.C. world loves to proclaim that "all lives have value." Really? Did Ted Bundy have value? How about Jeffery Dahmer, Al Capon, John Dillinger, Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Jesse James, King Leopold, Jim Jones, Jeffry Epstein, Berny Madoff, and Jack the Ripper? Did their lives have value? What about crooked politicians and "pastors" who embezzle church funds? How about gang members or people in the Cartels? What about sex traffickers? Would you say child molesters have value? What about false teachers that lead people straight to the gates of hell? The E.C. world is so sappy they have created a title for all people, "Image bearers." Sigh...
One of the most ridiculous things from the E.C. world I have ever heard is that "people can lead a sinless life." Many "pastors" teach their members that "people can reach sinless perfection."

So, I am going to show some verses that describe people who are goats, those who live a constant life of sin (Thought and deeds), will never have their sins forgiven, and don't believe in Scripture and everything Scripture teaches. Those in the family of God have value, but only because God gives them value, not because they have any value within themselves. This is all people who do not have God's hand in their life. All sheep live like goats before being brought into the knowledge of the truth. Even if one is a sheep, one never loses their sinful nature. Sometimes, all of the sheep slip back into acting like a goat and sin! What do you think Scripture means when discussing "he who overcomes?" We have to overcome the world and our sinful nature!

Ever since the birth of "Evangelicalism" in the early 70s, which soon became the most popular form of one of the world religions known as Christianity, there has been a constant and progressive move away from Scripture truth and into the lies of the "Traditions of Men." One of the crucial steps was three-fold 1. To lower God from His lofty position as the sovereign God, who runs the universe and people according to His will, who is angered by sin and will punish the sins of the goats in the end into a soft, cuddly, kindly, never angry, effeminate "daddy" or "da-da" figure. 2. People involved with the E.C. world had to be turned into an incredible creation of God, "God's masterpiece," who God became a fan of, where God is "so in love with" them. He is their "biggest fan." A God who would "bend over backward" for them.
3. To turn Jesus, the sovereign God in the flesh, one who constantly rebuked the false teachers of his day, who chased the crooks out of the Temple twice, who never smiled, laughed, or told a joke, into a "fun-loving big brother," who is just oozing with love for everybody!
The E.C. world follows one of the central teachings of Gnosticism, which taught that the body and spirit are separate entities. That it doesn't matter what the body does, the only important part is the "spirit." E.C.s know that Scripture forbids fornication, but how many commit adultery or engage in premarital sex? Scripture forbids getting drunk, but how many E.C.s go to bars and clubs every weekend, attend parties where there is plenty of alcohol, or get drunk at home regularly? How about those who smoke marijuana every day? Scripture commands believers to help those in need, family members, especially saints. But how many faithfully give money to their church building but won't help out mom or dad or the person in need sitting next to them at church?

The false teachers knew from the start that a vital part of the plan was to draw the people's eyes and ears away from Scripture and replace it with another, made-up, man-created "bible" whose source is the "Traditions of Men." To "recreate man" into the image needed for the "Traditions of Men" to be accepted as truth, the E.C. world moved away from what Scripture teaches about man into people who are "really good," "have great value," are so "wonderful" that God has no choice but to accept them "just the way they are," and will meet them "where they are at." Because it gave God such "great pleasure and delight" to create man," "How valuable you are."
To do this, one of the crucial needs was to teach their followers is they are not wicked. No, that only describes the "evil" people, criminals, the "unchurched." The O.T. Jews were evil and disobedient, but not Gentile believers. Did you know that only one other person, besides Jesus, was called good in the N.T.? (Acts 11:24)? Did you know that the word "wicked" is used 325 times in the KJV? But you won't find the newer translations using the word "wicked" near as much. I read that the RSV only uses the word "wicked" 60 times. If you have a Strong's Concordance, start reading the verses with the word "wicked." They have no hope! They are doomed! There is nothing good said about the wicked. Just because God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked (Eze 18:23, 33:11) does not mean He will give them a pass. You won't find a single verse that says, "God loves the wicked."
When people read these verses, they don't see the words. A necessary move to convince people that they are in no way wicked is to change the concept of sin. Instead of transgression against God and man, it is now merely a "misstep," "missing the mark." And even if you "mess up a little," it does not matter to God because God will continually forgive your "little, minor errors." Four words that are disappearing from the pulpits are "wicked," "evil," "sin," and "sinner." Some have taught that if you sin, it is because you "had" a demon of that sin. Others teach that to repent means to accept Christ, "git saved."

Ah, a sermon title from a program that just came on the radio, "The dangers of favoritism in the Church." Earlier, there was a "sermon" on the four major views of creation. Before that was a "sermon" on "How to be a kingdom man." And even sooner was a sermon on "How to tap into the power of the Spirit." These are some of the favorite topics in the E.C. world. There are always available the never-ending "sermons" on marriage, "sexuality," or "Your identity in Christ." James didn't teach anything about the "dangers of favoritism." He commanded the sheep to stop doing it! James said those who do this are committing sin, something not mentioned in the "sermon." James had no concept of "the church."

I want people to realize two things. 1. A sheep can and does sin throughout their life. The difference is that the sheep, as they grow and mature, physically and spiritually, learn more of Scripture and think of the things taught in Scripture; they know and practice self-control, which leads to less sin. You learn to stop lusting after the things of the world and learn to be content based on God's promise and the reality of the promise that God will always provide for our basic needs to live, food, shelter, and clothing. We learn how to control our reactions to any current emotional response so that we don't "get into our flesh" and react as a goat does. A part of growth and maturity is the constant awareness that, until we pass, we are trapped in a body of flesh. We cannot escape our flesh. And the flesh is always trying to control our thoughts and actions. We realize that our flesh will always take over when we take our eyes and mind off of what Scripture teaches. This happens naturally and automatically. When that happens, the result is always sin.
Sin, which comes from our flesh, is powerful. But, as believers, we have died to sin,

Rom 6:9-14, "For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him...he died to sin once for all, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourself dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal bodies so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer your body to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God...and offer your body to Him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master..."

God has not taken away our sinful nature. God does not take away your desires or cravings. Instead, He, through the death and resurrection of Jesus, has given us the power (ability) to overcome our flesh.

2. There is nothing good in our flesh (Rom 7:18). We have nothing in us that is attractive to God. At our best state, we are vanity, found wanting. God is not impressed or amazed in any way with man, any person! How can any person with a flesh body be attractive to God? Scripture teaches that the sheep are drawn to Him. Scripture does not teach that God is drawn to man. Scripture does not teach that God pursues anybody. Scripture does not teach that God "wants" all people to become a part of His family! God's border is secure and cannot be breached. He only lets in those He has chosen, the elect. Do you know that the word elect means "to choose?" When we vote in an election, are we not making known our choice for a particular person to sit in office? During NFL training camp, many players are trying to make the team. But in the end, don't the coaches choose who will be on the final roster?
