Why would you need to be hearing to use this website anyway? it never makes a sound though my sister does when shes on here. that constant click click click of the keyboard

I dont think Bevlina saw my correction on the end of page one, first of all. she said that deaf people can use the special forum to type in braille....deaf people don't use braille, blind people do. and I DO know that someone did ask the deaf/Deaf/hh people to leave. I never said otherwise.

I dont consider myself disabled, but discrimination is everywhere, I get it on more then one count (not just because I'm Deaf/deaf) people who discriminate are usually just dumb and immature...maybe they're the disabled ones

and tex, this website, maybe not, except for the videos that people put up...like the 'fellowship of the bears one' but other websites might if it's alot of audio. I think they were giving their information for OTHER websites, not just this one.

Because of their disability? - That would be wrong!
Because of their posting style? - Would depend on their style
Because of their expressed views? - Would depend how they expressed theri views.

From what I understand it wasn't just one person, anyone who said that they were
Deaf/deaf/hh got that pm.

But maybe I'm wrong.

We not make big argument here. Deaf language culture different hearing.

Sometimes hearing person interpret wrong deaf person.
Deaf English different hearing, deaf English like sign. Person asked deaf to leave - misunderstanding maybe, if all deaf people know welcome, all ok.

I do that alot...sad eh? some people are so ignorant and bigoted they can't see beyond the end of their own nose. I get it on many accounts, not just because I'm Deaf.

I agree, sometimes I think some people make up stuff to be bigoted about. Guess it is their basic insecurity about themselves...or maybe they just like to be cruel.

Sorry to hear you have had such dealings with those kind of people, but then so have I. We all have.

I'm glad to see that the armor I've requested long ago will be put to good use... Sad to see that some of those who are hearing-challenged are being discriminated. From what I've gathered, it appears that someone thought the deaf person was being a troll, and was asked to leave.

To any hearing members out there: I'm hearing impaired (since birth), and wear a hearing aid. I can speak quite clearly; I didn't learn sign til I was in college, and although I have a good grasp of grammar and spelling thanks to public schooling, I can pretty much express myself pretty good online.

But what of those who sign in ASL? or in SEE? They write/type exactly as they sign, and although it looks grammatically incorrect, it takes some reading to understand what they're trying to say in their posts. That person didn't take the time to read and mis-interpreted what the deaf person was saying, and assumed it was a troll. Had that person ASKED the deaf person to CLARIFY the post, this wouldn't have to happen like this.

This is happening all over CF; not with just one deaf person-- it's among other debative forums and among Christians as well-- too many people jumping to conclusions, when they should TAKE THE TIME to ask the poster to CLARIFY the meaning of the message/post! It takes a big person to stoop low to be understanding and compassionate of others. Shame on those who look down on others!

"Well then you really must be a very bad person because god is making all this happen to you"

so... there will be people like this person and that's the reality of life.

If someone tells me I am not welcomed, I will ignore that person and notify a moderator.

Yet some of us would look at you and say what a special person you must be, for God gave you the gifts of strength, courage and perserverance and the abilities to overcome the odds. You are the equivilent of Jacob and Joseph , and we all know how much God loved them.

Just send it to a Sr staff member and it will be taken care of. No one has that right to be so judgemental and so forward enough to tell someone esle they are not welcome. No right at all.

There are people who believes that faith is the main reason why I am sick. I just don't find that in the bible. I am reading the same verses they are quoting but I am interpreting the verses differently than they are. Many of the remarks like that one person told me don't really bother me. I leave this to God's hand in that situation. Now.. if he start bothering me, that's a different story, I will report. So far, he has not bother me.
