I'm.....Wonder Woman
Truly sad.
This is reminiscent of what happened to ANY person who remotely look Arab here in the states after 9/11. Don't y'all remember? People who do this were hateful in their hearts to begin with, IMO.
One of my former colleagues is 3rd generation Indian (as in the country) - born & raised CATHOLIC in Chicago for crying out loud. About six months after 9/11, he told me he was roughly pulled aside on both the outgoing & returning flight from Milwaukee to Atlanta on business, to be frisked & asked questions. Even when he clearly spoke "American" English & was wearing an rather expensive business suit, also. Didn't matter. They also told him (on the return) his carry-on was "too big" and made him check it, even though it was no bigger than anyone else's?? He was so scared & didn't want to make a stink and look even more "suspicious", so he just quietly complied. People just stared at him. He told me he would never forget that experience. Now, he doesn't have nearly the problems he did back then, thank goodness.
Yes, it's good to be more "aware" in a post-9/11 world. However, when a tragedy happens, people need to stay calm & reasonable. Is it normal to be nervous? Sure. Attacking someone who LOOKS like the racial profile of a terrorist does not help, though.
