Attack of the ugly gray demon

My fiancé had a vision one night when falling asleep of three gray figures in darkness saying "we've been waiting for you". Maybe two days later he started having a reoccurring dream that always ends with him leaving a group of people arguing and when he turns to do so he turns into the face of what I say is a demonic spirit which proceeds to put his hands around his throat and is choking him and simultaneously making a sucking action which he describes feeling like the demon is trying to inhale his soul. He will wake up paralyzed and this "thing" will still be there upon opening his eyes. He stated he's never had a dream feel so real. His boogeyman is gray skinned with hollow black pits for eyes and he sees no mouth really to speak of except another black hole and hands with long claws. He said he could even smell his breath. Long description of that made short... Not pretty.

He has recently been born again and I can imagine Satan not liking a new strong willed and very vocal baby christian. I told him that he should just scream for Jesus in his mind when he's paralyzed and relish in his hasty retreat. And I now make sure to pray for his protection with him before going to sleep and have advised him to rebuke. What else can we do and does anyone have any other insight into this?

This has happened to me on occasion. First when I was young it was a pure black figure doing the same thing you described it doing to your husband. It's happened a few other times by more transparent figures. Medically the condition is known as sleep sleep paralysis, however I do believe it is something more of a demonic attack myself. There's nothing more you can do but call on the name of Christ in these situations and nothing more is needed then just that. Kind of funny tho .... you can take a strange sense of comfort know that the only reason these things attack you is because you are indeed a child of God. Otherwise I really don't think they would bother. Their purpose it to try and cause doubt in the believer, but by doing so they only reaffirm that the believer is a believer.

I would say pray and don't be scared, I know it's easier said than done, but don't be scared. Jesus won against devil on the cross. If I cannot move or anything . I just say Jesus. And he literally lets Go straight away. When Jesus was lead by spirit to the desert, and he was fasting and praying and was very close God. Who came? .. Be brave in Jesus Christ.

They have given me sleep paralysis countless times when I started walking with God but I would call on Jesus even though sometimes it felt like something was holding my mouth shut and even one time my mouht felt like it was held open. You can also bind them in the name of Jesus and cast them out. They are just trying to discourage you or make you think God doesn't have your back. But Just use your authority in Christ and rebuke them. or Bind them and cast them out. God bless you.

Instead of just using our "authority in Christ" to rebuke them, how about opting to follow the unction of the Holy Spirit and study the Word of God, so that DEMONS don't have the opportunity to creep up on you in the first place???

Christ is in the business of saving lives and so am I. It is like my very first mentor said, who happens to be one of the three, you can tell "devout" Christians to read the Bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) all day long, but they will come up with every excuse in the book to keep putting it off. Reading the bible has nothing to do with it. But u will probably take that out of context as well.... Reading the bible is a must...I know that.. I’m sorry you feel this way about our exchanges. This is certainly not the impression I wanted to leave with you. To warn people (especially other Christians) on a spirit forum about the dangers of interacting with the spirit realm is not an act of pride but an act of concern and compassion.

I am not trying to be condescending. I understand that you are as passionate for Christ as I am or else you wouldn’t here. However, there are a few misconceptions about the spirit world that I would like to point out to you as well as others.

#1: In the Spirit realm, this is actually NOT a reality.

I would like to preface this by saying this is all revelation that is gained through steadfast study of scripture; that is why I suggest and recommend we all read the Bible. Contrary to popular belief, reading the Bible has everything to do with it.

The Bible is in fact a document co-signed and co-authored by God and Christ yet dictated to mankind. Katt Kerr gets this. Therefore in a SPIRIT forum where we are all interacting with God, Christ and Satan from the BIBLE, it seems only practical to have read the manual in its entirety before embarking on such a perilous journey into the unknown. I thought I was being rational. We are talking about real gods, real spirits, real angels and real demons. They are not subordinate to mere mortals (that would be us) in any way, shape, form or fashion FOR REAL.

Not understanding the rules of engagement can get one killed. I understand that this will be a very very very hard concept to grasp and many will remain skeptical, but all I can do is plant a seed (1 Co 3:6-9).

Job 40
“Look at Behemoth,
which I made along with you
and which feeds on grass like an ox.
16 What strength it has in its loins,
what power in the muscles of its belly!
17 Its tail sways like a cedar;

Although GOD (NOT Christ, mind you, but GOD from the OT) is often ROMANTICIZED in OUR MINDS as a completely docile, gentile creature, in reality that’s NOT the case by any stretch of the imagination. Verse 19 of Job 40 demonstrates God’s TRUE temperament and inclination. And, as the Good Book states, “I am the same yesterday and today and forever (Heb 13:8).”

This is why I had advised you to read the Book of Job. Job’s three friends had actually incurred the wrath of GOD by witnessing incorrectly . Similar to the concepts you’ve expressed above and in other posts, they had all tried to convince Job that since he was a virtuous person (or saved) no harm would EVER come to him. God would see to it that he was ALWAYS protected.

Job 5:20
20 In famine he will ransom you from death,
and in battle from the stroke of the sword.

Job 36:7
7 He does not take his eyes off the righteous;
he enthrones them with kings
and exalts them forever.

Sound familiar??? NO MATTER HOW MANY DEMON ATTACKS I ENCOUNTER, MY GOD WILL CONTINUE TO PROTECT ME!!! DEMONS DON’T CONCERN ME WHATSOEVER B/C MY GOD WILL CONTINUE TO PROTECT ME!!! READING THE BIBLE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT; SINCE I’M SAVED AND I BELIEVE IN CHRIST, MY GOD WILL CONTINUE TO PROTECT ME!!!

Real Eyez, that’s what you sound like. YOU sound EXACTLY like Job’s three friends who incurred GOD’S WRATH by the end of the story. So what does that tell you about your individual fate if you persist in this dialogue??? *Hint: You should reread the interpretation I supplied you with on your ‘God Almighty’ thread.

While they carried on in spiritual arrogance and defiance, Job maintained humility and subservience and insisted that he was not above reproach even though he was deemed a righteous man.

Job 9:13

#2: Verse 13 of Romans 8 shows us that living in rebellion of the Holy Spirit leads to death and damnation, while living in accordance, or in agreement of the Holy Spirit leads to life. In other words, YOU WILL LIVE; YOU WILL SURVIVE TO SEE A NEW DAY; YOU WILL MAINTAIN THE CURRENT BODY YOU CURRENTLY POSSESS!!! Hallelujah!!! However, REBELLION leads to DEATH. YOU CAN BE KILLED; YOU CAN BE MURDERED; YOU CAN BE SENT TO HELL.

So if we (as Christians) continue to interact with DEMONS in COMPLETE REBELLION of the HOLY SPIRIT where do you think that will eventually lead??? *Hint: SATAN (along with DEMONS, DEAD PEOPLE, and other unsavory supernatural elements can LITERALLY KILL YOU and STEAL YOUR SOUL).

I am glad you were reading the Bible at the time of this demon attack; however, DEMONS aren’t just manifesting to engage in polite conversation. They’ve come for more (far more) than that. That’s why this matter should be taken very seriously. Test the spirits and don't tempt the Lord, your God.

#3: Christ said, ‘I come like a thief in the night.’ And, He was speaking to the CONGREGATION of the Church in Sardis.

Revelation 3
I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. 3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.

These are three good reasons to treat the spirit realm with a little bit more reverence and respect. It is a realm of infinite possibilities and Satan comes to kill, steal and destroy.

The Bible’s anointed b/c Christ’s words are in the Bible. Humble, people don’t understand that these DEMON ATTACKS CAN ACTUALLY COST THEM THEIR SALVATION AND THEIR LIVES. They are being too dismissive about what’s really going on here, on these Christian boards. That’s why I am stressing emphasis on reading the Bible. ALL of this information is outlined in holy scripture as I have just pointed out with bullets 1-3.

Pray for protection at night. If you stay close with God and pray for help you will receive. I was once attacked in the manner you speak of. Now coming closer to God i am protected. I recall a night a few weeks back, i awoke in a panic. I could hear and i felt as if something was pacing back and fourth to the side of my bed at the far wall. I felt as thou God would not permit this being to come closer to me. I prayed for it to leave and the noises stopped and i felt as thou it had left. Prayer is a key to alot of things my friend.

We do not, and will not fear death, demons, or loss of our salvation. We are already sealed and adopted as sons/daughters. Who/what could possibly be successful in robbing us of staying His sons and daughters? The scriptures say no one and nothing. He who has ears let him hear the Word of the Lord. Satan wants us to fear him. I and my brothers and sisters will not fear him, for our Lord is our champion and savior, and He has defeated satan already. Do not preach fear of satan on this forum. There are young vulnerable people here who don't know that they are sealed and saved forever.

Yah . those are "the grey aliens" they're really weak against trust and love . the main substance of the faith . if he just focusses on cultivating that substance of God inside himself . then he should get stronger over time .

I have had dreams about and still do and have also waken up seeing a demon just like described. The one i saw was wearing a long black cloak. He seems to follow me around alot and shows up either when im doing realling good in my walk with Christ or when i become weak in faith. I also began having really weird dreams, visions, feelings, and seeing things when I first asked Christ into my life.

amen. I have had many attacks like this but I no longer fear these things. My God has all power and we have authority in His name. There is nothing to fear. We should only fear God in the right way.
