  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It is clear that you atheists who keep defending your concepts of tooth fairy and similar company as the fundamental concept of God in the Christian faith in relation to the universe, it is clear that you don't have the correct fundamental concept of God in relation to the universe in the Christian faith.

So, on concepts alone you are missing the issue of God or no God insofar as the fundamental concept of God in relation to the universe in the Christian faith is concerned.

But you are assuaging your to all appearances hatred for the correct fundamental concept of God in the Christian faith in relation to the universe, even though you claim not to hate God on your gratuitous assumption that God does not exist, by repeating concepts of tooth fairy, flying spaghetti monster, invisible pink unicorn, celestial teapot. etc.

You hate the concept even as concept, by bringing in vilifying concepts to conflate the concept of God with, which you don't have to if you don't harbor hatred in your heart.

You see, even in concept alone, the fundamental concept of God in the Christian faith in relation to the universe, namely:

Maker of everything that is not God Himself,

stirs up so much consternation of hate in your whole neurology that you cannot keep to equanimity, but have to resort to derogatory epithets like the characters of tooth fairy, flying spaghetti monster, invisible pink unicorn, celestial teapot, when you know that the concept of God etc. is not similar to the concepts of these characters -- unless in your own arbitrary construction owing to your hatred.

Summing up, you don't have the correct fundamental concept of God in relation to the universe in the Christian faith, namely:

God is the maker of everything that is not God Himself.

That is the whole point of this thread, namely:

Atheists' non-fundamental concept of God in relation to the universe.

Hope you see the whole point here.

Pachomius

I'm beginning to think the point is to increase your Google ranking on the phrase "fundamental concept of God in the Christian faith in relation to the universe".

Dag nab it, I just contributed to the problem...

You have not proven that God does not exist.

But just the same, I am not into the existence of God, but into the concept of God.

And on concept to concept comparison I see you atheists are very conspicuous to be into hate speech no matter how you sanctimoniously you avail of camouflages.

Pachomius

Well... you have not proven that God exists either.

But as you are into concepts of God only:

The fundamental concept of God in relation to the universe for Atheists is: God does not exist.

If you don't mind the correction, I'd say a better phrase would be: God does not need to exist.

The fundamental concept that emphazises the agnostic part. No, I have no problems with that. Though I'd say that my version still fits better if you emphazise the atheistic part.

But that is a matter of preference only.

There seems to be some sort of confusion. True, 'our' Pachomius, aka yrreg or ryrge, does travel the boards of the internet with his show. But I doubt it is the same person as the spammer from Stop Forum Spam.

I guess it depends on what you consider spam. If it is limited to advertising, then there might be some confusion. If it is extended to flooding a topic with write-only posting, repeating the same thing over and over and never actually reading the rest of the discussion, then I think all of these various identities might be one and the same.

I am a lot of times addressing my posts here to fellow Christians.

It is good that this Christian Forums does not allow atheists and non-Christians to go everywhere, because they have a tendency -- to say the least -- toward derailing a thread so that it never gets to develop properly.

You want to exchange thoughts with them on an issue as spelled out in the title of the thread, but they will not go and stay there, instead they will bring in all kinds of materials, and if you tell them to keep to the thread, they will rebuke you that you are controlling the thread.

So, what is the thread author supposed to do?

Let them take over the control of his thread so that they can and will derail it, and it will never get any further but come to total dissipation in all directions except into the proper orientation of the thread.

That is what the atheists and non-Christians do in my other thread on the fundamental concept of God in relation to the Christian faith.

Here is one example from a poster by the name of quatona.

That would depend on the topic and the context.
Btw.: In this your thread you were the one who brought them up. Typically, atheists don´t bring them up in discussions about the concept of god, but in discussions about evidence and such.

Just keep to the concept, maker of everything that is not God.
What is wrong with that concept?

That such an entity exists is an unparsimonous assumption, to begin with.

See also http://www.christianforums.com/t7559740-7/#post57527449.

Get your facts straight, Gracchus is the one who first brought them up: flying spaghetti monster, invisible pink unicorn, (celestial) teapot.

See #42 14th May 2011, 04:18 PM.

You say:

That such an entity exists is an unparsimonous assumption, to begin with.

You guys seem to be impervious to conceptual thinking.

I have told you time and again to keep to concepts.

You are obviously into obstructing the development of the thread, go away, return to your atheist brethren instead of bellyaching your grudges here in Christian Forums.

"Unparsimonous" you say?

But not like your flying spaghetti monster, invisible pink unicorn, and celestial teapot, that is the kind of (un)thinking you guys are used to, to all appearances yes.

Which is more unparsimonious? A concept, or flying spaghetti monster, invisible pink unicorn, and celestial teapot?

You are asked to find what is wrong with a concept, wherefore if you are possessed of conceptual thinking, you examine the internal ingredients of the concept.

Here, I will give you a tip.

Just examine the ingredients of the concept, maker of everything not God Himself, see anything that among themselves cannot belong together?

maker
of
everything
not
God
Himself

You guys seem patently to be impervious to conceptual thinking.

Because your heart and mind are mired in grudges against God Whom ironically you shout loudly all the time you don't believe exist.

Since atheists and non-Christians to all appearances don't care to discuss about the fundamental concept of God in the Christian faith in relation to the universe, namely:

Maker of everything that is not God Himself,

I thought that I could get better results with the present thread,
"Atheists' non-fundamental concept of God in relation to the universe."

It seems to be succeeding very well, see how the atheists are explaining why tooth fairy and other similar characters are their insisted on fundamental concepts of God in the Christian faith in relation to the universe.

Which is absolutely wrongheaded, because those concepts are not the fundamental concept of God for Christians in relation to the universe.

That has been always the deceptive way of atheists, steer away from the issue by hurling unsavory labels on the concept of God, on the false similitude that is self-fraudulently contrived by themselves that God is as non-existent as the tooth fairy and similar characters.

Someone here says (no I don't put anyone on anonymous) that for atheists the fundamental concept of God is that God does not exist.

See? you guys are impervious to conceptual thinking.

Here is a test we can go into together to find out whether you guys really indeed cannot do conceptual thinking.

Suppose I keep telling you that this thread is all about concepts only, not existence of entities corresponding to the concepts outside man's mind, but you keep proceeding from the standpoint that you have proven the non-existence of God, while at the same time you never ever tell readers what you know is the fundamental concept of God in relation to the universe, in the Christian faith.

Is that a failure even an absence or worst an incapability of conceptual thinking from your part, yes, no?

Now, see if you can distinguish correctly one concept from another.

I say God in the Christian faith in His fundamental concept in relation to the universe is:

Maker of everything not God Himself.

But you guys keep insisting that God is the tooth fairy, the flying spaghetti monster, the invisible pink unicorn, the celestial teapot.

And you maintain that in concept God is similar to the concepts of these fictional characters, because God does not exist just as these characters don't exist.

Or the belief in God is similar to the belief in these characters.

Okay, here is the challenge to you in order that you can prove to readers and thus also to yourselves that you can do conceptual thinking.

I say God for Christians in relation to the universe is:

Maker of everything not God Himself.

You say God is:

a tooth fairy, a flying spaghetti monster, an invisible pink unicorn, a celestial teapot.

Okay, see if you can think at all:

Tell me what is for you the fundamental concept of:

a tooth fairy, a flying spaghetti monster, an invisible pink unicorn, a celestial teapot,

in relation to the universe.

A tooth fairy in its fundamental concept in relation to the universe is...

A flying spaghetti monster in its fundamental concept in relation to the universe is...

An invisible pink unicorn in its fundamental concept in relation to the universe is...

A celestial teapot in its fundamental concept in relation to the universe is...

Now, start thinking really using your brain cells as God has given them to you to use productively not in service to hatred.

Tell the readers what you know to be the fundamental concept of each of the characters above in relation to the universe.

If you have learned nothing from this thread except to think conceptually, I will already admit that you are susceptible to learning, which is the fundamental concept of intelligence for man in relation to the universe.

Whoever has figured out the major point of this thread, could you please summarize it for me?
The fundamental concept of God in relation to the universe is: God is the maker of everything that is not God Himself, and atheists don´t get it - even when they declare to be willing to discuss this very concept.
The tooth fairy, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, the Teapot etc. are not defined as the makers of everything that is not Themselves, therefore every mentioning of them (no matter what the context) is considered a vile attack on the OP.

Whenever someone is willing to discuss the concept of God being the maker of everything that is not God Himself the OP is clueless how to proceed from and starts talking about the FSM, the Teapot, the Tooth Fairy etc. instead.

The list of usernames that pgp_protector cited fromt the vbb plug-in does not really mesh with yrreg and ryrge, I think. A cursory google search did also not bring up anything yrreg-/ryrge-esque for any of them. So, I suppose we are dealing with two different spammers. A case of being right for the wrong reasons.

Or the belief in God is similar to the belief in these characters.
That is the main (conceptual) mistake in all your reasoning and ramblings.

It is the DISbelief in God that is similar to the DISbelief in these characters.

And again you don't understand... or do not want to understand.

We say, that God in any form or fundamental concept is similar to galactic pink flying teapot in exactly ONE regard: it does not exist (or does not need to exist).

That is the fundamental concept of Atheism/Agnosticism: "What you describe there as a concept is not factual. (Or: does not need to be factual).

If you have learned nothing from this thread except to think conceptually, I will already admit that you are susceptible to learning, which is the fundamental concept of intelligence for man in relation to the universe.

Pachomius
If several people consistently try to educate you on the fundamental conceptual flaw in your argumentation, and amongst each other seem to perfectly understand their reasonings, then you might want to consider that the problem is with you and your understanding instead of them.

And even if you are not willing or able to consider this... perhaps you should consider that patiently explaining just what the heck you are trying to say is a better approach for a civil discussion than accusing your audience of being unable to think or hating you.

Interesting hypothetical. But that's not what has happened in this thread so I'm not sure why you're bringing it up, other than to derail the discussion.
But you guys keep insisting that God is the tooth fairy, the flying spaghetti monster, the invisible pink unicorn, the celestial teapot.

Nope, not true. The fact that you have to lie about what other people say to make your point shows how empty that point really is.

And you maintain that in concept God is similar to the concepts of these fictional characters, because God does not exist just as these characters don't exist.

Again, not true. There are other similarities as well. Several of them created the known universe, just like your God did - in concept, that is :

A flying spaghetti monster in its fundamental concept in relation to the universe is...

He created it ex nihilo

An invisible pink unicorn in its fundamental concept in relation to the universe is...

She created it ex nihilo

If you have learned nothing from this thread except to think conceptually, I will already admit that you are susceptible to learning

So says the person who can't even successfully summarize what other people have written in the thread. If you're going to try and insult people, it'll be more convincing if there's any reason to take you seriously. Your antics so far make you look like a jester or troll, not someone to actually listen to.

Thanks, you get it correctly but you are emotive not intellective, that is why as also with Gracchus you stray instinctively into material lies.

Rewrite the post and remove every instance of emotivism, keep to intellectivism, then no one will see you to be lying at least materially.

And everyone, just don't mention the words and similar emotive words like tooth fairy, flying spaghetti monster, invisible pink unicorn, celestial teapot, to compare them with the fundamental concept of God in relation to the universe which is:

Maker of everything that is not God Himself,

Because all such utterances are in concept without any meaning as regards the making of everything that is not the entities represented by them, but intended by their users to hurl insults against the entity represented by the concept, namely, fundamental concept of God being in relation to the universe in the Christian faith:

Maker of everything that is not God Himself.

If you atheists who hate God want to tell the world that you hate God, I get the message very clear, but I am inviting you to affirm that you do have an acquaintance with the fundamental concept of God in the Christian faith in relation to the universe as:

Maker of everything that is not God Himself.

You see, when you keep on hating someone for all the to you hateful things he is supposed to be blamed for, you cannot focus your attention on the concept of this someone as the maker of everything that is not himself.

Get that into your heads, otherwise you cannot be intellective but all emotive, and that is not reasoning but emoting.

Now, someone or some of you will say that I am also emotive.

But I can say without emotion that in the Christian faith as a fundamental concept in relation to the universe God is the maker of everything that is not God Himself.

Can you say that, so that you can show that you have the correct fundamental concept of God in the Christian faith in relation to the universe?

You will say that "But I don't believe in God that He exists."

There you go again, I am just telling you or asking you whether you are acquainted with the fundamental concept of God in relation to the universe in the Christian faith, which for Christians like one Pachomius, the concept fundamental concept that is for Christians that is in relation to the universe that is, IS:

God is the maker of everything that is not God Himself.

Can you get that into your heads and say that with your lips, even though you don't have the belief or as some of you put it you have the absence of the belief in the existence of God.

That is the whole point of this thread, the title of which is and its topic:

Atheists' non-fundamental concept of God in relation to the universe.

So, your logical reaction is to tell readers yes we do know and it is that God in the Christian faith in relation to the universe is the maker of everything that is not God Himself.

Or no we don't know, tell us what it is.

And I am here telling you if you don't know what it is, it is that God is the maker of everything that is not God Himself, in regard to the fundamental concept of God in relation to the universe in the Christian faith.

What then?

Then Christians will know that you know what is the fundamental concept of God in the Christian faith in relation to the universe.

And so?

So, they can see whether when you express hatred for God you are hating the entity represented by the fundamental concept of God in relation to the universe in the Christian faith, or some entity that is not in fundamental concept in relation to the universe the God for Christians.

Wherefore, no need at all to harp continuously that you are just telling mankind with your hate speech of tooth fairy, flying spaghetti monster, invisible pink unicorn, celestial teapot, you are just into equating God with things that don't exist.

I know that and Christians know that, but will you just also tell the whole world that for Christians in fundamental concept of their God in relation to the universe, God is the maker of everything that is not God Himself, and that you know that perfectly.

....playing along....

Ok, the fundamental concept of God for Christians is that God is the maker of everything that is not God himself.

Now what?

Before anything else, I just like to know conceptually what is your attitude in saying these words at the top of your message:

....playing along....

Please conceptualize and verbalize, intellectively, not emotively, even though you have to examine your heart for the attitude in your heart by which you write the line "....playing along...."

Because that line is susceptible to duplicitous understanding.

I am very happy that you get correctly the concept of God fundamentally in relation to the universe for Christians.

You ask, "Now what?"

Here below, look for your answer below in the message reproduced from me preceding yours.

Read thoughtfully, carefully, intellectively.

Say, have you ever considered that you might get better reactions from people if you didn't accuse them of being stupid, hateful and lying in every second sentence?

Have you ever considered that it might be better to explain yourself if you feel you are misunderstood rather than assert that people are "playing dumb"?

It seems to be very important for you that the fundamental concept etc etc... you repeated it often enough.

There have been several attempts here by several posters who did make clear that they would debate that as a concept... attempts which you seem to have misunderstood - grossly.

And now I try again: I accept your definition of your concept.

Now what is your point? And I would like to have an answer... not a puzzle, a riddle or a counterquestion.
