  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Atheists arguing morality?

Am I the only person that sees the irony in this? They reject their own Creator, his word, and Christ, yet somehow they feel that their own standards of morality are above all others. They wont even recognize their own sins, but somehow they think they can dictate what true morality is. Fascinating stuff.

Atheism is a religion of self. These people, in general, are quite bitter. I mean, they flock to Christian message boards just to mock our faith. How pathetic is that? They have nothing to look foward to except another day in their own meaningless existance. I reckon I'd feel bitter too if I believed all I was here for was to pass on my genes and die alone. How anyone can think that the creation of the universe was due to some random lucky cosmic chance is beyond me.

If you are a Christian then you should abide to what your lord taught you: "Judge not lest you be judged in return".

there is no point for a Christian to try to argue morality with a person who fails to recognize their own need for a savior. My sins are many, but through Christ the savior, I am forgiven. To live in denial of God is to create your own hell right here on earth. You will never experience the joy and peace that I have through faith. I don't worship out of fear of hell. I worship because I recognize just how much God has blessed me and truly loves me. It saddens me greatly to see so many reject their own Creator. Good bye and God bless.

And so he runs away with his tail between his legs...

I'm thinking it doesn't "sadden" you so much as "stump" you that atheists and other non christians do experience joy and peace and have a strong sense of morality without ever even considering the idea that they are sinners in need of a saviour. In other words, you think you are sick and Jesus is the cure, while others feel perfectly healthy. And you can't stand that. I'm also willing to bet that you don't "worship because you recognize" anything, but because you were taught to by your family or got caught up in emotion at a youthgroup service.
You really can't excuse or justify the OP so why not just fess up, move on and learn from this experience.

Gonna stay Lonesome with those attitudes, my lad.

It is considered a sign of maturity to avoid starting off by insulting a whole pile of folks, and finishing by telling them they're all miserable and immoral. *

*Note that number of years on planet does not necessarily coincide with level of maturity. However, if you're only eighteen, you have lots more time to acquire maturity.
