asking angels..

I was wondering, when i'm feeling anxious or sad at night, is it ok to ask my angels to comfort me? Doesn't everyone have atleast one angel assigned to them? Or is asking angels for comfort at night instead of God/Jesus mean I'm ignoring Him? Sorry, I'm confused!

Why ask angels when you can ask God? Here's a helpful verse:

"Until now you have not asked anything in my name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete." - John 16:24 (NAB)

But since you're Catholic, then I can recommend something else:

"As for me, when I [the angel Raphael] came to you it was not out of any favor on my part, but because it was God's will." - Tobit 12:18a (NAB)

I agree with Vincent. They Bible isn't really specific about angels being "assigned" to us. Sometimes I will ask God to send angels to protect me if I'm driving. Or I'll ask Him to cover me with the Blood of Christ.

I would refrain from talking to angels. It speaks of New Age and also, angels are not omipotent and can't hear you speak to them. Only God can do this.

Ok thanks . One of the reasons i got confused was b/c i had looked through a book by Doreen Virtue and also Sylvia Brown who both wrote books on Angels and they both said stuff like every person is assigned atleast one angel, and every person is born w/ the same amount of psychic power and then it went on to show u how to learn to speak with the angels and stuff . I dont know, i dont understand how someone can be born with "psychic powers" and others arent. Isn't that the angels' job, to give messages from God? Anyway I'll stick with the Bible and Jesus for now.

Good Idea! I've never heard Doreen Virtue but Sylvia Brown has no biblical back up for her work. obviously it is not for me to judge if she is a christian or not. I suggest staying away from those types because they can be really bad for our walks and such.
