A: a trillion years ago in my Karmann Ghia i had a flat on a lonely deserted stretch of county road and this boy appeared suddenly and offered (for which i was so grateful, what with wearing a white pleated skirt and pricey pantyhose) and so i allowed him to deliver me from certain doom and then didn't have anything to pay him except my dinner money and so i shrugged helplessly and said i'd give him my watch although it was a girl's watch and he said no, that's okay, and it's been 38 years and i still worry because i didn't do it right, i should have given him money and gone hungry, don't you think :o
