  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The big bang is the current theory of the creation of the universe. What created the big bang? Nothing? Gods word says he came first without a beginning. God was first or nothing was. What does science say came first? Nothing?

What's the current accepted theory of mans origin?
Several million years ago, there existed a species. This species split into four distinct groups, and those groups grew apart. Each group grew so far apart that they evolved into distinct species - humans, chimpanzees, gorillas, and orang-outangs.

We didn't evolve from chimps, we didn't evolve from apes - we are apes. Chimps evolved from the same ancestor we did.

It's like asking if you're descended from your siblings. You're not: you all share a common parent. Similarly, the great ape species all share a common ancestor in the proto-ape species that lived several million years ago (FYI, this species is now called 'Hominidae', and it lends its name to the taxonomic group that we, chimps, gorillas, and orang-outangs exclusive belong to).

And whats the origen of the man from ape theory?
Creationists, believe it or not. They are the ones who parrot this 'men from apes' nonsense, despite it never being espoused by science.

Nothing is what you have when there is nothing. Imagine what came first beyond your capabilities for a moment, keep going back...something had to be first. Was is the big bang? What created the big bang? Nothing?
I've already explained what the Big Bang is, and it's not what you keep making it out to be...

The big bang is the current theory of the creation of the universe.
No, it is not.

What created the big bang?
That is unknown to humanity.

Perhaps. Nothingness is as alien a concept as you can get.

Gods word says he came first without a beginning. God was first or nothing was. What does science say came first? Nothing?
There is no evidence to tell us what, if anything, happened prior to 13.5 billion years ago, so science says nothing.

As I've mentioned before, the Big Bang theory tells us how the universe has developed over the past 13.5 billion years - it says nothing about where the universe came from, whether it 'began' 13.5 billion years ago, what caused it, if there was a cause, etc.

The God i serve says we are all wrong and need his grace to sustain our lives. That sounds about right. I'm not worthy but he loves me anyways and he sent his son to become a man and die for the sin of us all. A god of love and mercy. I serve Jesus this is how i know my God is real. What other God makes sense? Only Jesus makes sense out of this senseless world. Without God I'll rot in the ground, the end. But even with God, only Jesus makes sense of this world.

I find that to be an appalling sentiment, but you have the right to believe what you wish.

That sounds about right. I'm not worthy but he loves me anyways and he sent his son to become a man and die for the sin of us all. A god of love and mercy.
Who turns Lot's wife into a pillar of salt for looking at her home - yet Lot himself, who offered his daughters up for mass rape, walks free. I do not consider that being to be of love or of mercy.

I serve Jesus this is how i know my God is real.
Do elaborate. I don't doubt you believe you serve Jesus, but how does that mean you know that your particular deity is real? Many people serve many things, not all of which are compatible with your personal worldview.

What other God makes sense? Only Jesus makes sense out of this senseless world. Without God I'll rot in the ground, the end. But even with God, only Jesus makes sense of this world.
I disagree. God, having created us in the full knowledge we would Fall, decided after some arbitrary time to manifest in an illiterate part of the world and sacrifice himself to himself in order to appease himself and thus life the punishment he himself levelled upon us - so long as we choose to love him.
And if we don't choose to love him, we burn forever.
And this is all done by a loving God.
Who's three distinct persons, but one distinct person - the Son is God, the Father is God, but the Son is not the Father. A1 = B, A2 = B, but A1=/=A2. Somehow.

Yep, definitely makes sense.

What would you theorize will happen to the universe given an eternity in time?

I mean, eventually, it will need to stabilize or something for there to always be an eternity, correct?
Pretty much. Time is linked to space, so if space exists, time will propagate. But, theoretically, barring any major hiccup in our understanding of entropy, the universe will die a cold death as entropy hits a maximum and the universe is a horribly thin, cold, plasma.

Sad times :(

This universe of spacetime began with the big bang, no?
No. Well, maybe. We don't know :p.

The Big Bang isn't a single event that occured some time ago - it's the name given to an ongoing process that's been happening for 13.5 billion years. The Big Bang has been occurring for 13.5 billion years - and we don't know anything about what happened before that moment.

So all we know is that the universe has existed for at least 13.5 billion years. It is incorrect to say we know the universe is that old, to say we know the universe had a beginning or a cause, etc.

Either God... or a frozen future, if you don't rot in the ground first. Science is Gods creation. God is not so impossible to believe. But there are many. Or just one. I believe in the one that promises forgiveness to all. Regardless of the universe's future.

How old are the laws of physics? How did they come about?
Presumably, they're as old as the universe. They're just the rules by which particles interact - an electron is repelled by other electrons because that's just how electrons are, not because of some big equation in the sky. We can describe electrons' behaviour in terms of equations, but it's just that: descriptive. What we're describing is electron behaviour - and electrons just sit in their own part of space, interacting with whatever they can, however they can. They have no concept of currents and voltage and suchlike.

That's my philosophy as well. The truth no matter what. I saw a documentary on space time, gravity and all that. It makes God more believable after watching it. It could explain how God always existed. How he could know the future. I'm not a scientist, wish i was because science is fascinating. Netflix is pretty cool though. You can get the universe and how the earth was made and many other documentaries containing all the leading physicists and theories and it makes me believe in God even more when i listen to their discoveries.

The moon being just the right size and just right distance away from earth and the sun being exactly in the right place and it all being in the only habitable zone in the solar system...fascinating. I don't think it was all a coincidence but it was designed this way.

What's the current accepted theory of mans origin?

It is called "biological evolution".

And whats the origen of the man from ape theory?
It was originally based on similiarities of form and function, but that gross observation has now been supported by developmental biology, genetics and biochemistry.

By the way, man is still an ape, just as a carp is still a bony fish. Of course one can say that man evolved from an ape, and a carp evolved from a bony fish.

Speaking of Darwin, i once heard that he claimed in his own writings that women were lower on the scale of evolution then men. Did Darwin actually say this?

I also heard that Darwin himself stated in his own writings that in the future which is now, that we would find fossils in the fossil record that would prove or disprove his theory of evolution. To my knowledge no evidence has been found. Does this mean Darwin's theory of evolution was wrong?

Not exactly physics but it is science
Perhaps it is because it is due to your "Lack" of knowledge on the subject that brings you to the false conclusion.

For your information; The Theory of Evolution is the most peer reviewed and scrutinised scientific theory of all time and has passed unscathed and with flying colours.

Revelation is VERY clear about about what will come to pass.
