But what is your best guess as to what this is?

It's a crop of some original image.

It looks like some kind of hand torch, but with the filter at the end, it looks as if water would be coming out, so yeah, I don't know.

Looks like some sort of radiation emitter/receiver (the mesh, the glass bit, the switch bit, makes me think it's an emitter). Freaky.

Where did you get the image then? Maybe there's clues there.

It's just a snippet from God knows where.

So yeah, the original image was cut and loaded to Imageshack I think.

No clues to be found that way.

I wish the person would show the full picture.
