Ashlee Simpson on Orange Bowl Halftime Show

Hey, did anybody catch the Orange Bowl halftime show? I didn't get to see the other two performers, but in my opinion, Ashlee Simpson was just downright horrible. I mean, seriously, after the SNL lipsync incident, now her horrible performance on National Television...is she actually planning on being in music for the long haul?

Did you guys think it was bad too, or was it just me and the people I watched it with?

I do have to say, there's still hope for me as far as becoming a professional singer is concerned. I base this on the fact that I, who can't even carry a tone in a bucket, can sing better than Ashley Simpson.

I'm basing this on the Orange Bowl halftime show last night. She absolutely cannot sing if here life depended on it. It's great that the audience booed her after her pathetic performance. She deserved it. Now I know why she didn't sing live on Saturday Night Live - because she can't!

It's sad that such a no-talent is getting a shot at fame just because of her sister. I'm sure there's many, many more talented people out there that deserve it.

I usually make a point to avoid halftime-show performances at all costs, regardless of who the artist is. I almost wish I had seen this one, just to hear the boos.
The fact that this performer (I won't call her a musician or singer) has a recording contract with a major label only reinforces the negative view of the recording industry as a whole in my mind.

Talent means nothing when it comes to record deals; it's all about marketability, if you've got the right look or attitude or sound then you're in. As long as you keep selling records, you can stay in; before long though, the ride is over. FYI - Ashlee has a career because of her dad, not because of Jessica.
Ashlee's dad is both her, Jessica, and Ryan Cabrera's manager. It is because of him that she got a deal, not Jessica.

that wuz SO funny how they booed her!! she wuz really bad!! on her CD and stuff(i dont have it but ive heard her songs) she is good. its just cuz they change her voice on the CD and she lip sings in real life but after last time they didnt wanna take the chance so she wuz SO BAD!! LOL

Pitch correction and slick production can make anyone a star... Transplant a product like AS from that artificial studio environment to a live stage without a safety net and they're dead in the water.
