I don't know about other Christians but I most definitely do not think that is the case.

God bless

The date was put at 2007 (by some) because in the bible mentioned when (meaning was translated as) Israel would take over Jerusalem and Armageddon would come a generation later. A generation they say in the Bible is 40 years. So Isreal took Jerusalem in 1967 + 40 years = 2007.
I only take this with a pinch of salt as it assummes a lot when it translates things.

Well if were going to play with dates then try this one Web :

Psalm 90
9For all our days have passed away in Your wrath;
We finish our years like a sigh.
10The days of our lives are seventy years;
And if by reason of strength they are eighty years,
Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow;

Israel took Jerusalem in 1967 + 70 = 2037

With the world situation the way it is I would say we are in the end times but not yet in Daniels 70th week. So the year 2007 is out of the question but the way things are I do believe it will be before 2037, in fact much sooner than that!

Hello all.

While we are talking about dates (with the understanding that it is just for fun and not with any belief in their accuracy) have you heard this theory before?

According to the Jewish calendar we are in the year 5763. In 237 years we will reach the year 6000 (six being the number of man). Using the 7 year tribulation and a pre-trib rapture theory we could say in the year 5993 the rapture would take place and the tribulation would conclude in the year 6000. Then the millenium would bring us up to the year 7000, or the number of completion. So man (his number being six) would have had 6000 years of history, of strife, of sin, etc. He would have had "his time". Just a thought.

As far as the question,

that Armageddon is coming soon?

I have always been under the impression that the battle of Armageddon (if it is an actual battle) takes place at the end of tribulation. Not to turn this into an eschatology thread but if that is the case then we are most definitely not close to the battle.

in Him :)

My thoughts EXACLTY Yekcidmij! If Christ didn't even know when it was going to happen, why shoudl we think it is possible for us to know? Sure things that happen are fulfilling prophecy, those thigns have been happening forever. Thats what prophecy is,,, time progressed fulfillment of One's will, HIS will.

Come check my end times thread.

It's a bit unorthodox, but it's based on excellent scholarship by Robert Van Kampen (The Rapture Question Answered and The Sign). I'm fairly certain it's mostly right. I just have to work out a few details and integrate the book of Daniel (but that's sort of in there already, just not explicitily).
