Last year, Arizona discontinued its vaccine education program amidst protests from anti-vaxxers that the information presented by pediatricians and health officials would be too one-sided. The protesters also believed, for no good reason, that they would be required to receive the information before being able to keep their kids from being vaccinated.

Now, the Arizona Health and Human Services has voted on new bills concerning opting out of vaccinations.
AZCentral said:
One of the measures — House Bill 2470 — not only expands vaccine exemption categories in Arizona, it gives parents additional leeway by removing the requirement that they sign a state health department form to get a vaccine exemption....
Two other bills endorsed by the committee Thursday would create more work for physicians. House Bill 2472 requires doctors to offer parents an "antibody titer" blood test to determine whether their child needs a vaccine or is already immune. House Bill 2471 is an informed-consent bill that would give parents information about vaccine ingredients and vaccine risks, including how to file a complaint for vaccine injury.

"These bills, if passed, will undermine our efforts to keep Arizona's children safe and healthy because they would lower the vaccination rates in our communities and increase the risk of community-wide outbreaks," said Dr. Elizabeth McKenna, an East Valley pediatrician affiliated with the Arizona chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. "Arizona's vaccination rates have already fallen to dangerously low levels."

No major religion opposes vaccination.

What’s next? Are we going to remove globes from the class room because they are too one-sided to the flat earthers?

To be clear, people who are concerned about the safety and efficacy of vaccines are not "anti-vaxxers", which is pejorative. In fact, most of them were very pro-vaxx given that their children had been vaccinated until one or more of them suffered a life-ending or life-altering injuring. So the correct term would be "ex-vaxxer".

Because there are risks to every medical intervention including vaccines, there must be choice. To force someone or their child to be vaccinated against their will is a violation of both human rights and the Geneva Convention. This is the type of thing the Nazi's did and why protections are necessary.

As to the tired and worn-out bumper sticker slogan, "safe and effective, safe and effective, safe and effective", consider these facts:

There has never been a true double blind placebo controlled study of any vaccine

The vaccine schedule has never been tested for safety and efficacy

In spite of recommendations to get them, no vaccine has ever been tested on pregnant women (recently admitted to in court documents by the FDA)

There have been zero long-term studies of any vaccine. The average trial lasts somewhere around 5 DAYS!

The drug companies have zero liability as per the 1986 vaccine shield law that was signed by Pres.Reagan

As a result of that law, HHS was required to conduct vaccine safety studies and submit a report to congress every 2 years. According to recent court documents, HHS has not conducted a SINGLE safety study since 1986!

After 1986, the vaccine schedule expoded

The US has one of the worst IMR in the developed world. And there is a direct correlation to the vaccine schedule

Notice that Scandinavian countries only require 11-13 vaccines during that same period and you don't hear about kids dying of "vaccine preventable diseases".

Most childhood infections in the developed world are mild and provide lifetime immunity. Vaccines don't provide lifetime immunity and require constant injections. In addition, wild infections reduce the risk of other more dangerous health problems later in life including cancer. Mumps for example reduces women's risk of developing ovarian cancer.
Mumps and ovarian cancer: modern interpretation of an historic association

Mumps parotitis may lead to expression and immune recognition of a tumor-associated form of MUC1 and create effective immune surveillance of ovarian cancer cells that express this form of MUC1.

And measles virus is currently being used to cure certain types of cancer.

Most people don't know anything objective about vaccines. Instead they trust the pharmaceutical industry that profits from them, the government agencies like FDA and CDC with their revolving doors, TV and print news which controls content through advertising dollars (about 70% of all TV news revenues come from the drug companies), the medical establishment that also has a vested interest in vaccinations, etc. You have to be willing to spend hours of research to learn the truth. But people are waking up, and that's what's scares the vaccine industry. Hence, we have all these bills around the country to prevent people from exercising medical freedom. Today it's vaccines. Tomorrow it's something else. Do we really want to go down that road?

lolol, classic. Claim that most people don't know anything about a subject and then post a bunch of lies about that subject that are falsifiable with a 30 second google search.

That's pretty doubtful. I don't think the majority of anti-vaxxers have damaged or dead children. Do you have any statistics to back that up?

Because there are risks to every medical intervention including vaccines, there must be choice. To force someone or their child to be vaccinated against their will is a violation of both human rights and the Geneva Convention. This is the type of thing the Nazi's did and why protections are necessary.
Really? Please state which part of which Geneva Convention is against vaccination as a public health care policy (with exceptions for the health of the child, not the philosophical objections of the parents).

As to the tired and worn-out bumper sticker slogan, "safe and effective, safe and effective, safe and effective", consider these facts:

There has never been a true double blind placebo controlled study of any vaccine
Of course not, that would be stupid and irresponsible. True double-blind placebo controlled is not the be-all and end-all of medical tests. Since they have vaccines which have been proven over time to be safe and effective, new vaccines are tested against the standard, not against no protection whatsoever.

The vaccine schedule has never been tested for safety and efficacy
What makes you think that?

In spite of recommendations to get them, no vaccine has ever been tested on pregnant women (recently admitted to in court documents by the FDA)

There have been zero long-term studies of any vaccine. The average trial lasts somewhere around 5 DAYS!
That's nonsense. Where do you get that?

The drug companies have zero liability as per the 1986 vaccine shield law that was signed by Pres.Reagan

As a result of that law, HHS was required to conduct vaccine safety studies and submit a report to congress every 2 years. According to recent court documents, HHS has not conducted a SINGLE safety study since 1986!
Once again, your information is faulty.

Anti-vaccine ICAN settles with HHS – what does this mean for vaccines?
All these HHS units are actively engaged in working on vaccines safety.

In a letter responding to a previous set of claims from the anti-vaccine ICAN, Dr. Melinda Wharton from HHS corrected many of the organization’s misunderstandings on vaccines safety studies.

In short, while the HHS should have submitted the required reports, it has done and continued to do abundant work related to vaccines safety. Anyone claiming based on the stipulation that HHS is not working to assure and improve vaccines safety or that there are no studies either misunderstands or lacks knowledge about what HHS is doing, or is being dishonest.

Notice that Scandinavian countries only require 11-13 vaccines during that same period and you don't hear about kids dying of "vaccine preventable diseases".
Most the other countries have national health care including prenatal care and paid maternity leave. I don't know how you and your sites are counting the various vaccinations but a graphic with no explanation from an anti-vax site may not be reliable.

There is a huge difference between "may" and "does".

And measles virus is currently being used to cure certain types of cancer.
Not really.
ScienceBlog.CancerResearchUK said:
This treatment did not involve a standard measles vaccine or virus – the researchers used a genetically modified virus, and there’s no evidence that the regular measles or MMR jab can cure, prevent or cause any type of cancer.

Briefly, it involves treating patients with viruses that have been genetically engineered to specifically infect cancer cells, rather than causing the particular illness that they usually bring. When injected into the body, the viruses seek out and destroy the tumour cells, multiplying inside them to create even more cancer-killing viruses. At least, that’s the theory.
Aka, genetically modified viruses.

Most people don't know anything objective about vaccines.
How do you know what "most people" know or don't know?

Instead they trust the pharmaceutical industry that profits from them, the government agencies like FDA and CDC with their revolving doors, TV and print news which controls content through advertising dollars (about 70% of all TV news revenues come from the drug companies), the medical establishment that also has a vested interest in vaccinations, etc. You have to be willing to spend hours of research to learn the truth. They should trust government agencies like the FDA and the CDC - you know, actual experts in their fields. It's conspiracy theorists who erode public trust and with that, public safety.

Anti-vaxxers put us all at risk.

I'm not surprised that the party with a large ignorance of established science voted the way they did, while the other party went the other way. No crossover votes. That's what I'm not surprised about. The narrative of the Republicans being anti-science just got bolstered, at least in Arizona.

Your so-called medical freedom does not include recklessly exposing others to contagious diseases because you are willing to believe a load of tripe from nut cases on the two far extremes of the political landscape.

My experience is these ant-vaxxers are some of the most ignorant and scientifically illiterate. They might be "educated" but usually its in a liberal arts or business background. And most of them aren't religious, so I don't think it's just about what churches preach. We really have entered an age where people take science lightly, and are incapable of realizing what is legitimate medicine and legitimate medical risks, from what is quackery and snake oil.
