(As an adied, here is a question I would like everyone reading this thread to consider. Does anyone believe that a Christian has the right to mame or kill any other person simply because that person does not believe what the Christian believes?)

Well, if the general concensus is that no Christian should ever hurt, mame or kill another person simply for not believing what the Christian believes, why has there been so much torture and murder throughout history?

Was that torture and murder done by Christians?

Were they just misguided Christians doing what they thought was best for Christianity?

After all, more than a thousand years of torture, imprisonment and murder by christians, and all in the name of God, has to be addressed at some point, doesn't it?

Hi Everyone!!

The whole question about Protestant/NOT a Protestant comes from a flawed and worldly way of looking at the True Church.

When one is born into the Kingdom of God (Born Again) by accepting Jesus sacrifice as full and sufficient payment for their sins--truly believing that His sacrifice on the cross is indeed sufficient and that there is nothing that we can do to have our sins forgiven other than trusting in Jesus' sacrifice, then we become a member of the One True Church which is spiritual.

When I was Born Again I became a member of the One True Church that was there at the beginning as much so as if I would have been standing there and accepted Jesus' sacrifice at Pentecost. I don't need any human successors of someone that was there at the time to tell me that I am a Christian nor do I need to belong to some worldly group that believes that belonging to it makes you a Christian.

God's Kingdom is a spiritual kingdom as the Bible tells us. Trying to force a worldly understanding of God's spiritual kingdom is again a very flawed and worldly way of looking at it.

Now, on the other hand, we use labels in this world such as Baptist just as a shorthand to let people know in general what our beliefs are: these labels have absolutely nothing to do with how far back our church goes--ALL Born Again Christians regardless of the label of their church became a member of the One True Church--the one that was there at the beginning--the moment they were Born Again.

So NO, I am not a Protestant--I did not leave and protest any one. How can you leave and protest something you were never a member of nor never believed! I think it is rather odd some people seem to get some kind of feeling of legitimacy from feeling that some of us have "left them" even when we never were "with them." If anyone has left the One True Church it is those that teach that one must do things to have their sins forgiven other than trusting in Jesus's sacrifice and that place burdens on their followers beyond what was place on the original Church--See AC 15:28 (Listed below in Green for your easy reference!) But, on the other hand, I am always willing to PROTEST all false teachings where'er I find them. LOL So call me a Protestant if you must--just know that it is false teachings, false Gospels, and false Christs that I protest. ;)

Love you in the Lord!

Terri--Like a Living Stone, A member of God's Spiritual House, A Holy Priest, trusting in the Precious Cornerstone, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words, happy to protest all false teachings

1PE 2:4 As you come to him, the living Stone--rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him-- 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For in Scripture it says:

"See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame." (NIV)

1CO 2:12 We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. 14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment: (NIV)

AC 15:28 It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: 29 You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. (NIV)
