Of course. Both ideas describe a process to explain the formation of the forms we actually observe.

The problem is there's strong historical evidence for one of those processes and not the other.

The final product says it all.

No it doesnt.

If it does, then there's absolutely no way to distinguish between the validity of creation, evolution, or any other explanations you might propose. You have to look at the history of biological change, as well as observe how things are changing going forward. If that history indicates creation, then so be it. But of course, it really doesnt, unless you take a very broad non-biblical-literal view of creation.

I guess. What was the 4,000 BC hebrew word for "relativity" or "quantum mechanics"?

Yeah, scientifically minded Christians and Jews manage to hold a sort of mythical view of the creation story without it sending them into despair.

If you mean the fossil record it seems to me that those creatures were well adapted for their environment. No need to change.

I prefer the word 'poetic' myself; it makes it sort of beautiful (to me)
The Biblical Creation story, back in ancient times before it was written down, was passed on through oral story telling. And stories tend to stick with the listener better when given in a kind of poetic enactment.

Evolutionists are fond of pointing out the weaknesses of our 'design' as compared to other species. The irony is that humans have never taken full advantage of the capabilities that we have, regardless of our supposedly poor design. Also ironic is that our 'evolutionary' design hasn't fared any better. In fact one can't tell the difference.

Are we the product of poor design?

Evidenced answer from observation is "No".

As clear enough in our overwhelming success as a species, dominating all species, standing at the apex, handling natural challenges over and over.

An amazingly successful species.

Except that the Earth environment continually changes. The geology and environment of the Earth is not static which forces creatures to change, or die out.

Poetic. Yeah thats a good way of putting it.

Thats a good video, except..... there's a whole ton of assumptions when he goes from initial conditions to God. His presentation might reinforce a person's pre existing faith, but I cant see how it compels faith in any reasoned way.

I agree - it was just an example to go along with what you were saying; he has other books and lectures though that go way beyond that 5 minute 'here's where I am coming from' clip. And they have enriched my understanding of both scripture and physics, very much so.

The geologic record shows that they die out.

That still doesn't explain the testicles. Is no one going to tackle that? :D

lol. A little TOO successful sometimes. We have a little Kudzu in our genetic heritage I suspect ;)
I picture contemporary people reading "be fruitful and multiply"..... and God going "hold on... you did that already, really really well".

Well, in evolutionary terms, achieving a lasting high population is thriving, But I know what you mean, the other kind of thriving, the more important kind, is on the individual level. We're only able to thrive in the ultimate sense through love in Christ.
