  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I, as everyone, am going to make mistakes. It's human nature. But if I'm going to make a mistake about about something, I would rather do so on the side of emulating the characteristics of Jesus. Where is my aim? To be more like Him.
Please re-read your statement. Jesus didn't make mistakes. You may want to relax and see that I am trying to help you there, brother. :)
I didn't call Herny "the least of these." It was a qualifier to my broader statement. Again, I was simply trying to emulate Christ. If I'm going to get shot down for that... well then, so be it.

Well now that you have made clear what you did mean, I would say that it is more probable that it will be taken as such.

Some helpful advice would be that you may wish to look up the word illogical and use spell check once in a while.

Maybe you would like to look up the word "overall" if you're giving composition advice to others.

You mean "wary."
Correct, wary would be the word I wanted - thank you.:)

Proverbs 17:10
A rebuke impresses a man of discernment more than a hundred lashes a fool.

Proverbs 19:25
Flog a mocker, and the simple will learn prudence; rebuke a discerning man, and he will gain knowledge.

Proverbs 27:5
Better is open rebuke than hidden love.

Oh my. Big misunderstanding. I wasn't suggesting that JESUS made mistakes. I was responding to the notion that showing love, compassion or mercy is a mistake when dealing with someone deemed to be "in sin." And my point is that if it IS a mistake to show compassion, then I would rather make that mistake than to be judgmental or too legalistic. But thanks for being willing to help me. I always appreciate that!
