Of course there are genetic mutations. But taking a single cell to a human? No. Even an ape to a human? No. Ever heard of the second law of thermodynamics?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!:D:D:D

Aaron, I've been patient, but I couldn't keep a straight face if you're going to dig up an argument from ignorance, a strawman, and the 2LoT argument.

Do you even know what the PRATT list is?

Did I say that? We were talking about evolution, and that is definetly one reason that evolution isn't a satisfactory answer. If you think that is the only reason that I believe in God, you have missed it by a longshot.

no, I am saying that you don't believe in evolution because you personally don't have the capacity to imagine how it would work.

Argument from ignorance because I talked about the complexity of life? Give me a break. That is a genuine problem for evolution. Of course that doesn't prove God's existence. I never said it did. If I had said that it did THEN it would be an argument from ignorance.

Where was my strawman?

I didn't say 2LoT, but sure, its a nice one as well.

No, I don't know what the PRATT is. Why dont you tell me.

No, I don't know what the PRATT is. Why dont you tell me.

2LoT is the second law of dynamics, and it is generally used by idiots who don't know what they are talking about.

PRATT is Points Refuted A Thousand Times. in short, we have seen it all before, and explained it all away before.

and yes it is an argument from ignorance, although you do not recognise yet that you are ignorant.

Well isn't that kind of how people form their beliefs? Don't you think that it is reasonable that if you try to work something out in your head and it just doesn't work, then it is not right?

What about God? Do you not believe in God because of your lack of capacity to imagine how it would work?

No it isn't. I can't work out quantum mechanics or wave/particle duality in my head. Nor potential energy. But reality isn't bounded by my imagination.

I do believe in God.

So then, if you have dealt with all of these problems ("pratt") so many times, you must have a great answer for them right? Let's hear it instead of you just saying that its been refuted so many times.

perhaps I have become bored of people who think they know it all and tell me about the 2nd law of thermodynamics. google is your friend.

Yes. Very familiar with it. Can you demonstrate which process required for a human to evolve from a common ancestor with modern apes is actually forbidden by the 2LoT?

The following processes are required:

Birth
Death
Genetic mutation
Natural Selection

Which one does the 2LoT render impossible? Remember the 2LoT is a physical law represented mathematically, so you will be able to show mathematically that the process in question is thermodynamically forbidden.

no. just because you cannot work out general relativity in your head does not mean it is wrong.

We are comparing apples and oranges here. I am not talking about the fact that I can not picture evolution, or I can not see every little detail. I am saying, given the existence of a single cell, evolution would not yeild life as we have it today.

That still leaves the huge problem of the first cell.

Do your genes mutate? No. I'd say that your immune system recognizing a pathogen is much different than your DNA changing to match the disease. That just doesn't happen.

(slapping forehead) Unbelievabele...you come back for more. I have NEVER met anyone that knows SO LITTLE about a subject and speaks with such authority. Have you never heard the term "Genetic mutation"????? If we did not have genetic mutations we would have no cancers. You have to be a child...no adult with any sense would keep coming back for more, the way you do...unreal. Please tell me you will speak at The Med. School next week? How do yo usuppose the immune system "recognizes a pathogen" in has never seen before? Did you know that viruses are not living? I bet you will say yes that you did already know that.....

But you have demonstrated no evidence that this is the case. The fossil record clearly indicates that that is exactly what happened.

That still leaves the huge problem of the first cell.

I doubt the first replicator was a cell as we know it now.

My mistake. I should have said logical entropy.

The second law of Thermo-dynamics is logical. "Logical entropy is not a seperate law" The way you use the words "cell", "ape" and "human" and then throw out the second law of thermo-dynamics without knwoing that much about it tells me you have been to Wednesday night Bible study quite a bit.

(laughing)..that is VERY funny considering your recent posts. Have you noticed for some reason you keep barking up my tree..I believe it has something to do with me being a woman and part of your anatomy has suddenly truncated. And no, you are right you do not know about anyone else because you do know anything about science.

Whoa, you're right! That's an awesome point. I never thought a woman could bring out such a great point. I guess I was genuinely wrong. Thanks woman!
