Amazing that the Apostle Paul devoted a good bit of time in his writings adressing this problem. Why the church today can sit down with the NT writings and not see this is beyond me.

Mat 5:18 for, verily I say to you, till that the heaven and the earth may pass away, one iota or one tittle may not pass away from the law, till that all may come to pass.
The earth is still here and the LAW is still here as well.We are not saved BY the law - but FROM the law but the LAW still stands. It is NOT done away with.

So you are implying that if you are in Christ - nothing you do is a sin? Murder? Adultry? Idol Worship? After all - without the LAW - there is no sin.9-iron said:
You are correct. However, read Romans, Galatians and Colossians real carefully. What you said is correct, but there is more to it than that. Only those outside the Law of Life in Christ Jesus are still subject to the Law. You can't be in the Law and be in Christ both!!!

Br. Max said:Christ also says that the law will in no ways pass away.Like it or not - the Law stands cause the earth stands.
How did he fulfill the law? He became the blood sacrifice required by the law for the forgiveness of sin. We no longer need to offer any sacrifice for our sins but the one that Christ offered. Because of his sacrifice we are now "under grace." We are given the grace of his sacrifice. Does this make me free to sin? NOPE. Does this make what God once called WRONG suddenly right? NOPE. I means that we are afforded mercy and forgiveness when we repent of doing wrong.MoreInSorrow said:Christ came to FULFILL the Law. But also realize that because of grace, we are no longer under the law. There were different kinds of law outlined in the OT. I'm sure you know that, but it seems that you believe that even though Christ came and died, we are still bound to the laws God set forth for the Israelites. I'd like to see you give Biblical references that tell us we are still to remain under the Levitical law God set forth for His people (the children of Israel).
1Jo 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1Jo 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
1Jo 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Jam 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you.
Jam 4:11 Don't speak against one another, brothers. He who speaks against a brother and judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge.
Jam 4:12 Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?
2Jo 1:4 I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.
2Jo 1:5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
2Jo 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
1Jo 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
1Jo 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jo 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
1Jo 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1Jo 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
