HeistheWay,

Mormons preach obedience to His Commands? They dont obey them. They are disobedient to His very first one.

Do you recall the FIRST Commandment?

Love the LORD THY GOD with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. God warned them to hear His Words, not to go aside to the right or left, but to be singleminded to serve Him, and NO ONE ELSE.

Yet Mormons brought in “another book” calling it the Word of God, and began to follow ANOTHER revealing their doublemindedness in being disobedient and unfaithful. TWO different books, TWO different masters.

It is BLASPHEMY and IDOLATRY to follow another, and claim another book is the “Word of God.” Jesus himself refutes those following another saying,

The sheep follow the Good Shepherd, for THEY KNOW HIS VOICE. A STRANGER will they NOT follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. John 10

1 Kings 18.21
Elijah came to all the people and said, How long halt ye between TWO opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him.

Joseph Smith is a false teacher as he disobeyed the Word of God in having many wives against the Word of God, brought along strange teachings that do not coincide, yet claimed to be of God, then introduced people to “another book” falsely claiming its the Word of God. He said he was “restoring” the gospel. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the Power of God, and does not need restoring.

True Christians only have ONE shepherd, JESUS CHRIST. They hear his voice and His sheep follow him. Joe Smith is the strangers voice who Jesus sheep do not follow.

Disobedience to His Command >>> Another voice, another gospel, another book.

You say you serve Jesus, but tote an
others words. Theres only ONE shephard, JESUS. Yet you follow and promote Joseph Smith. This, his sheep do not do. Its Disobedience.
You are aware that the bible is the collection of around 27 different letters written by at around 8 different people.

The words that are written were from apostles and those that followed the apostles. Some of their words conflict, but we give them a large degree of leniency because it is the bible, right?

Does that mean that you follow Peter, Paul, John, Matthew, Mark, and Luke? Do you follow these men because of their words? Yes, if you had lived in the first century you would have follow Peter around like he was Jesus himself, he was such a great man.

But even if you follow Peter, you sure continue to follow Jesus, because Jesus is the one that saves.

We follow Peter too, but we also follow JS because he gave his life for his testimony of Jesus. We also follow Jesus because he is the one that saves.

Have you read the BOM? In the BOM there are 100 sermons on why it is important to follow Jesus Christ. Not one word in it to follow JS. It is all about Christ. It is not another book, it is a 2nd witness of the life and death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As the bible says, out of the mouth of 2 witnesses will all things be established.

The Bible and the BOM establish that Jesus really lived, was crucified on the cross, and was resurrected and lived again. It is important because now with the 2nd witness there are people on 2 far reaching continents that testify of Jesus Christ, that he lives. That will become more important as time goes by.

Hmmm, no Peter.

The Epistles were letters. Smith rewrote a whole new Bible claiming Macaroni the angel appeared to him. 2,000 years later. 2 bibles, nope.

Are you really that gullible? He obviously didn’t teach his followers salvation by grace or his followers would understand you cannot earn your way to God. Instead his followers argue with true born again Christian believers who are saved and were bought with a price by the precious blood of Jesus.

1 John 4.6
We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby WE KNOW the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Joe Smith didn't get any revelation from God. Whoever appeared to him was not from God to bring about another bible. He is “another voice” who the sheep do not hear or recognize as Jesus told us. He lived in sin with many wives disobeying the true Word of God. That makes him not only false, but disobedient to the Word of God.

And, no, it is not a “second witness” of Jesus Christ. So false.

I have no desire to keep this conversation going. May God show you HIS true word, and not that of “another.”

Anyone not teaching people to keep the commandments are at fault:

(New Testament | 1 John 5:3)

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

(New Testament | Matthew 5:18 - 20)

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

The Book of Mormon teaches correct principles:

(Book of Mormon | Moroni 7:5 - 19)

5 For I remember the word of God which saith by their works ye shall know them; for if their works be good, then they are good also.
6 For behold, God hath said a man being evil cannot do that which is good; for if he offereth a gift, or prayeth unto God, except he shall do it with real intent it profiteth him nothing.
7 For behold, it is not counted unto him for righteousness.
8 For behold, if a man being evil giveth a gift, he doeth it grudgingly; wherefore it is counted unto him the same as if he had retained the gift; wherefore he is counted evil before God.
9 And likewise also is it counted evil unto a man, if he shall pray and not with real intent of heart; yea, and it profiteth him nothing, for God receiveth none such.
10 Wherefore, a man being evil cannot do that which is good; neither will he give a good gift.
11 For behold, a bitter fountain cannot bring forth good water; neither can a good fountain bring forth bitter water; wherefore, a man being a servant of the devil cannot follow Christ; and if he follow Christ he cannot be a servant of the devil.
12 Wherefore, all things which are good cometh of God; and that which is evil cometh of the devil; for the devil is an enemy unto God, and fighteth against him continually, and inviteth and enticeth to sin, and to do that which is evil continually.
13 But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.
14 Wherefore, take heed, my beloved brethren, that ye do not judge that which is evil to be of God, or that which is good and of God to be of the devil.

15 For behold, my brethren, it is given unto you to judge, that ye may know good from evil; and the way to judge is as plain, that ye may know with a perfect knowledge, as the daylight is from the dark night.
16 For behold, the Spirit of Christ is given to every man, that he may know good from evil; wherefore, I show unto you the way to judge; for every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by the power and gift of Christ; wherefore ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of God.
17 But whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do evil, and believe not in Christ, and deny him, and serve not God, then ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of the devil; for after this manner doth the devil work, for he persuadeth no man to do good, no, not one; neither do his angels; neither do they who subject themselves unto him.
18 And now, my brethren, seeing that ye know the light by which ye may judge, which light is the light of Christ, see that ye do not judge wrongfully; for with that same judgment which ye judge ye shall also be judged.
19 Wherefore, I beseech of you, brethren, that ye should search diligently in the light of Christ that ye may know good from evil; and if ye will lay hold upon every good thing, and condemn it not, ye certainly will be a child of Christ.

Their access to grace depends on their works according to the Book of Mormon and multiple lesson plans.

2 Nephi 25:23: “For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.”

D&C 130:20-21: "There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated-- And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated."

D&C 82:10: "I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise."

"We also increase the Savior’s power in our lives when we make sacred covenants and keep those covenants with precision. Our covenants bind us to Him and give us godly power. As faithful disciples, we repent and follow Him into the waters of baptism. We walk along the covenant path to receive other essential ordinances.17 And gratefully, God’s plan provides for those blessings to be extended to ancestors who died without an opportunity to obtain them during their mortal lives.18"

By President Russell M. Nelson

PhoebeAnn,

You have to be kidding. Look what i read on the LDS website.

“Joseph told associates that an angel appeared to him three times between 1834 and 1842 and commanded him to proceed with PLURAL marriage when he hesitated to move forward. During the third and final appearance, THE ANGEL came with a drawn sword, THREATENING Joseph with destruction unless he went forward and OBEYED the commandment fully.”

Really? So the “angel” who they say is supposedly from GOD tells Joseph Smith to DISOBEY GODS WORD? That angel clearly was NOT from God. And LDSers STILL believe the words Smith got from angel “revelations”?
You have to be kidding. NO angel from God would ever tell someone to disobey God. That was a BADDD angel.

THEN, they state ....
”The same revelation that taught of plural marriage was part of a larger revelation given to Joseph Smith—that marriage could last beyond death and that ETERNAL MARRIAGE was essential to inheriting the fulness that God desires for His children.”

Again, this angel “revelation” teaches Smith AGAINST the Word of God where Jesus said,
Matthew 22.30....For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Both these show what the angel taught Smith OPPOSES the Word of God. Wow is all I can say.
And they STILL accept his angel revelation as from God? Simply unbelievable

Abraham, Jacob and David all had more than one wife. Peter also had the authority to bind on earth and in heaven:

(New Testament | Matthew 16:19)

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

HeistheWay,

OH MY GOODNESS. Just read on the Mormon LDS web site an angel told Joseph Smith to DISOBEY GODS WORD, and take plural wives, or he would destroy him.

YOU LISTEN. I MEAN LISTEN....
Can you not discern truth from error? An angel tells Smith to go AGAINST Gods Word, and you STILL believe his angel revelations are from God?

This supposedly “angel from God” tells Smith to DISOBEY GODS WORD, and you want to follow this guys teachings? GOD HELP YOU.

The angel was an ENEMY of God who he was listening to. It was NOT from God. NONE of Gods angels would EVER EVER tell someone to disobey what the Word of God says, yet THIS angel did. EVIL angels are the ones who manipulate to disobey. In turn, YOU are listening to the so called “revelations” these bad angels gave him. Read it....

The LDS website states.....
Joseph told associates that an angel appeared to him three times between 1834 and 1842 and commanded him to proceed with PLURAL MARRIAGE when he hesitated to move forward.

The New Testament clearly teaches ONE wife, says due to immorality MARRY. For deacons, elders, etc. ONE WIFE, this is basic stuff in the Word of God.

That angel was NOT from God. And LDSers STILL believe the words Smith got from angel “revelations”?

You have to be kidding. NO angel from God would tell someone to disobey God. That was an evil angel.

THEN, LDS states......
The same revelation that taught of plural marriage was part of a larger revelation given to Joseph Smiththat marriage could last beyond death and that ETERNAL MARRIAGE was essential to inheriting the fulness that God desires for His children.”

Again, this angel “revelation” teaches Smith AGAINST the Word of God because JESUS HIMSELF SAID THE OPPOSITE....
Matthew 22.30....For in the resurrection they NEITHER MARRY, NOR ARE GIVEN IN MARRIAGE, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Both these show what the ”angel” taught Smith OPPOSES THE WORD OF GOD.

The “angelic revelations” Smith received were clearly NOT from the LORD. It was an EVIL angel that told him to go against Gods Word. Now he has written down his “revelations” and passed them onto you all. Now you know what you are reading and just where it REALLY came from!

You still want to believe these “angelic” revelations? And YOU STILL BELIEVE HIS WRITINGS AS TRUTH?

I only have ONE thing to say to you.

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE, AND I MEAN RUN

PACK YOUR BAGS AND FLEE LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER FLED BEFORE. GET OUT OF IT.

Who cares? That was the OLD testament. The NEW testament shows ONE wife for men, PERIOD.

And the scripture you quote about Peter binding has NOTHING to do with this.

An angel from God, hogwash. THAT angel was NOT from God. It was a deceiving one thats in direct OPPOSITION to the Word.

Why do you not like the Bible. Is the Old Testament not from God? Why did God say:

(Old Testament | Deuteronomy 21:15 - 17)

15 ¶ If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated:
16 Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn:
17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.

Isaiah had this to say about the future:

(Old Testament | Isaiah 4:1)

1 AND in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

HeistheWay,

I love the Word of God. His Word dwells in me.

Do you still want to play games here asking me a question like that? Its like cat and mouse. You are shown the Word of God, and you feel the need to jump to find an opposing scripture. You know better.

The New Testament shows ONE WIFE per man. Do you revert to the Old Testament in slaying your enemies and destroying them with swords too? You cannot jump back and forth to choose only scriptures that suit your fancy. You need to get grounded because you are all over the place.

Here are the New Testament scriptures....

1 Corinthians 7.2
Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his OWN WIFE, and let every woman have her own husband.

Ephesians 5.31
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto HIS WIFE, and they two shall be one flesh.

1 Timothy 3.2
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of ONE WIFE, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach..

1 Timothy 3.12
Let the deacons be the husbands of ONE WIFE, ruling their children and their own houses well.

And the verse you quoted from Isaiah 4 is a curse on 7 women going after one man. Read the verses BEFORE it, so u understand the context!

I am not playing this game with you. I saw the deception of the “angel” that spoke to your “prophet” Joe Smith and I KNOW that spirit was not from God. I am VERY concerned for you.

You need to get out of it, and get into a solid GOSPEL based Christian church that doesn't have you jumping all over the bible to find the truth. I do care about you. I just dont like the games.
Please, get out of it. It is so spiritually and mentally unhealthy. I am very worried for you.

I meant what i said about running for your life. You cannot be in a good spiritual place, taking those teachings into your heart. The devil is sneaky, he will try to give us just enough truth, and then insert a little itty bitty lie. The moment you see that itty bitty lie....know and be assured ....its not from God.

God is all light and all truth. May God lead you in paths that are true and right in being faithful to HIS Word, and you will be blessed! Love you!

I appreciate your concern. I am also concerned for those who do not fear God enough to keep the commandments:

(Old Testament | Ecclesiastes 12:13 - 14)

13 ¶ Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

This is a concise statement of the gospel. And although there were times when God condoned polygamy, I agree that a man should have but one wife.

(Book of Mormon | Jacob 2:23 - 29)

23 But the word of God burdens me because of your grosser crimes. For behold, thus saith the Lord: This people begin to wax in iniquity; they understand not the scriptures, for they seek to excuse themselves in committing whoredoms, because of the things which were written concerning David, and Solomon his son.
24 Behold, David and Solomon truly had many wives and concubines, which thing was abominable before me, saith the Lord.
25 Wherefore, thus saith the Lord, I have led this people forth out of the land of Jerusalem, by the power of mine arm, that I might raise up unto me a righteous branch from the fruit of the loins of Joseph.
26 Wherefore, I the Lord God will not suffer that this people shall do like unto them of old.
27 Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none;
28 For I, the Lord God, delight in the chastity of women
. And whoredoms are an abomination before me; thus saith the Lord of Hosts.
29 Wherefore, this people shall keep my commandments, saith the Lord of Hosts, or cursed be the land for their sakes.

(Doctrine and Covenants | Official Declaration 1:1 - 5)

1 Press dispatches having been sent for political purposes, from Salt Lake City, which have been widely published, to the effect that the Utah Commission, in their recent report to the Secretary of the Interior, allege that plural marriages are still being solemnized and that forty or more such marriages have been contracted in Utah since last June or during the past year, also that in public discourses the leaders of the Church have taught, encouraged and urged the continuance of the practice of polygamy—
2 I, therefore, as President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, do hereby, in the most solemn manner, declare that these charges are false. We are not teaching polygamy or plural marriage, nor permitting any person to enter into its practice, and I deny that either forty or any other number of plural marriages have during that period been solemnized in our Temples or in any other place in the Territory.
3 One case has been reported, in which the parties allege that the marriage was performed in the Endowment House, in Salt Lake City, in the Spring of 1889, but I have not been able to learn who performed the ceremony; whatever was done in this matter was without my knowledge. In consequence of this alleged occurrence the Endowment House was, by my instructions, taken down without delay.
4 Inasmuch as laws have been enacted by Congress forbidding plural marriages, which laws have been pronounced constitutional by the court of last resort, I hereby declare my intention to submit to those laws, and to use my influence with the members of the Church over which I preside to have them do likewise.
5 There is nothing in my teachings to the Church or in those of my associates, during the time specified, which can be reasonably construed to inculcate or encourage polygamy; and when any Elder of the Church has used language which appeared to convey any such teaching, he has been promptly reproved. And I now publicly declare that my advice to the Latter-day Saints is to refrain from contracting any marriage forbidden by the law of the land.

That being said it is lawful for men and women to have more than one spouse, just not more than one at the same time.

27 Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none;

HeistheWay,

Glad the president wrote that, but it does not let him off the hook for opening himself up to the Book of Mormon that was INSPIRED by evil angels appearing to Joseph Smith, who told him to disobey God.

And now that you KNOW those angels spoke to your prophet Joe Smith, and yet you CONTINUE on?
It opens you up to spiritual wickedness since you refuse to repent and turn from it.

I don't want to hear what that book has to say because now my eyes are open that it was inspired by evil angels. I would throw it out of my house and repent to the Lord for even partaking of it.

2 Timothy 4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having ITCHING EARS; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Peter 2.1
But there were FALSE PROPHETS also among the people, even as there shall be FALSE TEACHERS among you, who privily shall bring in DAMNABLE HERESIES, even denying the Lord that bought them, and shall BRING UPON THEMSELVES SWIFT DESTRUCTION.
2 And MANY SHALL FOLLOW THEIR PERNICIOUS WAYS, by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and THEIR DAMNATION SLUMBERS NOT.
4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment....making them an ensample to those that after should live UNGODLY.

You STILL want to continue in it, after you have knowledge it came through Joseph Smith from angels that TOLD HIM TO DISOBEY GOD?
It is utterly sinful. This is what God says will happen. Don't say you were not warned... and repeatedly.

I am instructed to no longer converse with you according to Titus 3.10. I must place you on ignore since you will continue on.....
A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sins, being condemned of himself.

As a test Abraham was also told to disobey God by sacrificing his son Isaac. I believe that Joseph Smith was also tested to see if he would obey God even though the Book of Mormon was clearly against polygamy. It should be noted that Joseph Smith's children were only by his wife Emma Smith. You have not given me a good reason why I should believe the Book of Mormon is not true.
