I believe that the best way to find out is something is true or not is to put a lot of effort into trying to understand it. For instance the Bible, how would a person decide if it is true or not? Can it be proven? What about praying about it? How does God reveal the truth of it? It is written:

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Notice that nothing in the verses in James He is the Way quoted are about the Book of Mormon--but they insist it does. There lies the bait to believe their Book of Mormon. They use the Book of Mormon to try establish Joseph Smith as a prophet and then you are introduced to more of their false doctrines, by the Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, etc.

Except it is not false doctrine but a marvelous work and a wonder:

I do not deny Christ nor do I follow a false Christ. I know God is LOVE and I follow the God of LOVE. Any other God is a false God. The commandments are also LOVE.

It is important to be baptized by someone who has the authority to baptize:
