Jesus Christ Fulfilled the Ceremonial Law given to Moses as it pointed forward to him.

You need to study the sanctuary which is a shadow of the Heavenly Sanctuary where Jesus is ministering as our High Priest.

Sabbath keepings all fall under the law of works. Jesus didn't just die for part of divisions of the Law. He died for all transgression of the Law.
So Hebrews responds that those who cease from their works have entered His rest.
So How do we cease from our works to obtain salvation ? By Grace through Faith.

James 2:18
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

James 2:20
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

To understand the Bible we need to know the meaning of words. Paul says circumcision of the flesh is of no value. The outward sign is not important. What is important is "circumcision of the heart in the spirit". Today in the Church we have either a child baptism or a dedication service where the whole church dedicates the child to God and they make a commitment to do all they can to raise and encourage the child to live the Christian life. What does it mean to live a Christian life? It means to follow the law of Love to love God love your neighbor and to love yourself. This requires your heart to be right before God. If we do not love God, love our neighbor and love ourself then circumcision of the flesh is of no religious or spiritual value. Although they still do circumcisions today because they feel there is a medical value.

The 10 commandments give us very practical application for how we are to love. For example we are not to commit adultery. We are not to sleep with our neighbors wife. Jesus tells us Matthew 5:19 "So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven." The issue is not as much in breaking a Commandment as it is to teach others to do the same or to set a bad example. Pastors and people in leadership are suppose to live their life as a good example for others.

Even though there are people that do not take the Priesthood of Aaron serious there are people today that claim their is even a higher level with the Melchizedek Priesthood. Yet Christ is even greater because He entered the Temple in Heaven with His own Blood.

Romans 2:29 "But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God".

While it is true that Paul said that circumcision has no value, what matters of obeying the commands of God (1 Corinthians 7:19), it is also true that he said that circumcision has much value in every way (Romans 3:1-2), so the issue is that circumcision has no innate value, but that its value is entirely derived from whether we obey God's Law (Romans 2:25). Furthermore, the way to recognize that a Gentile has a circumcised heart is by observing their obedience to the Law (Romans 2:26), which is the same way to tell for a Jew (Deuteronomy 10:12-16).

In Matthew 22:36-40, the reason why the greatest two commands are the greatest is because they summarize all of the other commands and the reason why all of the other commands hang on the greatest two is because they are all examples of what it looks like to love God and our neighbor. For example, obedience to the command to help the poor looks exactly like obedience to command to love our neighbor, so the law of love does not replace the other commands, but rather it is the essence of them. In other words, Jesus expressed his love for God and his neighbor through his actions and what that looked like was complete obedience to the Mosaic Law, so that is how we are to love as he loved.

While the Ten Commandments are a good starting point, Jesus taught obedience to more than just ten of God's commandments both by word and by example, and verses like Matthew 5:17-19 do not specify that they are only speaking about the Ten Commandments, but rather the phrase "Law and the Prophets" refers to everything in the Law and the Prophets.

Hi Jason, nice to meet you here. Some comments for your consideration below.

We are indeed in the NEW COVENANT now and not in the OLD COVENANT. Some make the mistake however in mixing up God's ETERNAL LAW (10 Commandments) with the Shadow laws for remission of sin from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT which were prophetic in nature pointing to JESUS and God's plan of Salvation which are fulfilled in Christ and points to the NEW COVENANT. Don't forget Jason everyone of God's 10 Commandments from EXODUS 20:1-17 are repeated in the NEW COVENANT by Jesus and the Apostles.

SCRIPTURE SUPPORT HERE Click me (POSTS 1-2).

What do you mean by Mosaic law? God's 10 Commandments written on stone are different to the Shadow laws of the MOSAIC BOOK OF THE COVENANT. Both laws have a different purpose under the OLD COVENANT and collectively made up the OLD COVENANT.

Once again the OLD COVENANT is not only the 10 Commandments it also includes the MOSAIC BOOK OF THE COVENANT which collectively made up the OLD COVENANT. The OLD COVENANT is made up of the TEN COMMANDMENTS and MOSAIC BOOK OF THE COVENANT.

God's LAW (10 Commandments)..

EXODUS 34:28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote on the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

the Mosaic law..

EXODUS 24 [7], And he took the BOOK OF THE COVENANT, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD has said will we do, and be obedient.

Indeed  These are a part of the shadow laws of the MOSAIC BOOK OF COVENANT (not the 10 Commandments). They were shadows pointing to a new heart by faith.

SHADOWS FORTOLD IN THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT SCRIPTURES….

DEUTERONOMY 30 [6] And the LORD your God will CIRCUMCISE YOUR HEART AND THE HEART OF YOUR DECENDENCE, TO LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITHYOU’RE YOUR SOUL, THAT YOU MAY LIVE.

JEREMIAH 4 [4] CIRCUMCISE YOURSELF TO THE LORD, AND TAKE AWAY THE FORESKINS OF YOUR HEART, you men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

DEUTERONOMY 10 [16] CIRCUMCISE therefore THE FORESKIN OF YOUR HEART, and be no more stiff-necked.

NEW COVENANT FULFILLMENT of the SHADOWS of the CEREMONIAL ORDINANCE of CIRCUMCISION pointing the CIRCUMCISION of the HEART through faith in Christ…

ROMANS 2 [25] For circumcision verily profits, if you keep the law: but if you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision is made uncircumcision. [26], Therefore if the uncircumcision keeps the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision? [27], And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfils the law, judge you, who by the letter and circumcision do transgress the law? [28], FOR HE IS NOT A JEW, WHO IS ONE; NEITHER IS THAT CIRCUMCISION, WHICH IS OF THE OUTWARD FLESH: [29], BUT HE IS A JEW WHICH IS ONE INWARDLY; AND CIRCUMCISION IS THAT OF THE HEART, IN THE SPIRIT AND NOT IN THE LETTER; WHOSE PRAISE IS NOT OF MEN BUT OF GOD.
1 CORITHIANS 7 [19] CIRCUMCISION IS NOTHING, AND UNCIRCUMCISION IS NOTHING, BUT THE KEEPING OF THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD.

This is the operation of GOD in the NEW COVENANT…

HEBREWS 8 [10], For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS, AND WRITE THEM IN THEIR HEARTS: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people

Same as above these are a part of the shadow laws of the MOSAIC BOOK OF COVENANT (not God's 10 Commandments). The MOSAIC laws for remission of sin were shadows pointing to Jesus as our lamb of God's and God's plan of salvation under the NEW COVENANT. If you are interested I have comopleted a detailed study on the Shadow laws from the MOSAIC BOOK OF THE COVENANT linking OLD and NEW TESTAMENET scripture. There is a lot of scripture showing the OLD TESTAMENT scriptures fulfilled in the NEW.

SCRIPTURE SUPPORT HERE CLICK ME. (PARTS 1-6).

Under the NEW COVENANT if you are not a part of God's ISRAEL you have no part in the NEW COVENANT. Gentiles are now grafted in (Hebrews 8:10-12; Romans 11:16-27)

Here you are getting God's eternal laws mixed up with the Shadow laws from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT. Where is circumcision and the dietry laws written in the 10 commandments as well as the ceremonial and civil laws? All God's Commandments are not ceremonial laws. These are from the MOSIAC BOOK of the COVENANT. God's LAWS are MORAL laws. The first 4 are our duty of LOVE to GOD and the 2nd six are our duty of LOVE to our fellow man (Matthew 22:36-40; Romans 13:8-10).

Indeed God's LAW 10 commandments only has 10 (Exodus 20:1-17) You are mixing up God's eternal laws with the Shadow laws from the Mosaic book of the covenant.

Indeed we are in the NEW COVENANT now. The change of law being referred to in Hebrews 7 is in reference to the Mosaic Shadow laws and the Levitical priesthood. No more sacrifices and offerings. Jesus is now our great high priest of the order of Melchisedek (Hebrews 5:10; 6:20; 7:1) The scripture quoted before the verse in your post verifies this and shows context.

HEBREWS 7:11 [11] If therefore perfection were by the LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

This is not talking about the 10 Commandment. It is talking about the laws of the priesthood see Leviticus 16.

Your repeating yourself here a bit Jason. Where does it say in scripture that God's 4th Commandment of the ten commandments is an ordinance? Where does it say in all of God's WORD that the 4th commandment is now abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day? All of God's 10 Commandments are MORAL laws of our duty to God and out neighbor.

COL 2 is talking about the Shadow laws from the MOSAIC BOOK OF THE COVANANT the chapter context v11-14 is the Shadow laws of CIRCUMCISION and BAPTISM v14 dogma means civil cermonial and ecclesiastical law that were erased (blotted out) at Christs death along with our sins (he is our true sacrifice that these all pointed to). v16-17 is the annual festivals of Leviticus 23 shadows fulfilled in Christ and God's plan of salvation (not all fulfilled as yet some are) These has annual festival Sabbath which were connected to these feast days that could fall on any day of the week depending on the year. These were ceremonial Sabbaths. Not God's 4th Commandment.

DETAILED SCRIPTURE SUPPORT HERE. CLICK ME. (Parts 1-6).

Indeed, you left out v18-19 For truly I say to you, Till heaven and earth pass, one stroke or one pronunciation mark shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Heaven and earth have not passed away. The Shadow laws for remission of sin from the MOSAIC BOOK OF THE COVENANT are fulfilled in Christ and point to God's plan of salvation under the NEW COVENANT. Not to get this mixed up with God's eternal LAW (10 Commandments) that give us a KNOWLEDGE of what sin is under the NEW COVENANT and lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith (Romans 3:20; Galatials 3:24).

In the life of a Christian God's LAW (10 Commandments) is not ABOLSIHED but fulfilled by faith that works by LOVE. This is the NEW COVENANT promise. (Hebrews 8:10-12; Romans 13:8-10; Matthew 22:36-40)

Not really. All of God's 10 Commandment are MORAL laws not ceremonial laws. The first 4 being our duty to GOD and the second six our duty of LOVE to our neighbor.

Actually no. Jesus taught the true meaning of the Sabbath and that it was lawful to do Good on the Sabbath rebuking the teachings and traditions of the Pharasees (Matthew 12:1-12). He taught he is the LORD of the SABBATH (creator God) and that he made it for all mankind [not the Jew or Israel] and the man was not created for the Sabbath. (Mark 2:27-28). Jesus and all the disciples and Apostles kept the Sabbath.

Nowhere in all of God's WORD does it say that God's 4th commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day. This is a teaching and tradition of men that breaks the commandments of God.

Indeed not juding someone according to a Sabbath does not say it has been abolsihed now does it? Your reference however is to the OLD testament shadow Sabbaths not God's 4th commandment

DETAILED SCRIPTURE SUPPORT HERE. CLICK ME.

Please show the scripture that says God's 4th commandment has now been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day? There is no such thing as the 9 commandments.

Jason thanks for sharing your thoughts. I hope this is helpful and clears up any misunderstandings you may have.

May God bless you as you seek him through his WORD.

James 2:18
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

James 2:20
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
And? What does that have to do with my post?

He's speaking of faith that works by love.

Not faith that works through the law of sin and death. /no such thing

With that said....He is not saying faith looks to strive and keep laws....why because the law was already fullfilled by Christ.

On the other hand, faith in Christ is to do[work] His will.
This is actually the faith that works through love...and the faith that works through love is the type of faith that delivers....another words the faith that works by love intends to follow....it intends to do[work] the will of the Father.

Yes I do Keep His word as properly understood, which by your reply and quoting the scripture you do not understand the true meaning of that scripture.

Example
Just as he told Adam and Eve

Genesis 2:17
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

The verse you quoted says that those that violate the Sabbath will be put to death. But if we repent GOD is a forgiving GOD.
Hebrews 8:12 King James Version (KJV)
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

It is a sin to violate the 4th commandment.

1 John 3:4
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Unrepentant sinners do not inherit the Kingdom of GOD

Psalm 24 King James Version (KJV)

3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Do you keep the law of the Sabbath according to Moses which says -

Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Exodus 31:15

Please don’t give me a bunch of other scriptures, just answer the question.

Here is the example:

Now while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day. And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation. They put him under guard, because it had not been explained what should be done to him.
Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man must surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” So, as the Lord commanded Moses, all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died.
Numbers 15:32-36

the will of the Father.

is this the will of the Father?
John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:21
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 15:10
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Is that a yes or no to the question I asked.

Do you keep the law of the Sabbath according to Moses.

Here’s the example. -

HEBREWS.8:10 = 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
.
.
How is God going to put His Law in the believers' mind and write them on their hearts if the believers do not know the Law, which consists of 613 Old Testament laws or Moses laws.?

For Jewish Christians, God can easily do the above. Not so for many Gentile Christians who had previously led mostly lawless lives from childhood as Gentiles(cf; ACTS.15:24-29).
....... In fact, there are false teachings that deem the teaching of obeying God's Law for earthly blessings as a demonic doctrine - even though the obeying of God's Law does not save one from hell at death.

Hi all,

Some people are going around teaching that God's 10 Commandments are ABOLISHED and no longer a standard for Christian living. Yet the NEW TESTAMENT alone does not teach this at all.

1 JOHN 2:1-4
[1], MY LITTLE CHILDREN, THESE THINGS, I WRITE UNTO YOU THE YOU SIN NOT. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
[2], And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
[3], And HEREBY WE KNOW THAT WE KNOW HIM, IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS.
[4], HE THAT SAYS, I KNOW HIM AND DOES NOT KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, IS A LIAR AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM.

WHAT DID JESUS AND THE APOSTLES TEACH ABOUT GOD’S LAW
(the scriptures below are no where near exhaustive from the NT alone)

Jesus taught the 10 commandments…..

1. Jesus kept God’s Law (10 commandments) and said the Law and the prophets would not pass away (Matt 5:17-18)
2. Jesus taught others to follow the 10 commandments (Mark 10:17-21)
3. Jesus taught that Love is the fulfilling (doing) of God’s Law (10 commandments Matt 22:36-40)
4. If we break God’s Law by following man-made traditions we are not following God (Matt 15:3-9)
5. Jesus says if we commit sin we are a servant of sin and he has come to free us from sin (John 8:32-36)
6. Jesus taught if you love God you will keep God’s Law and abide in His Love (John 14:15; 15:10
7. If anyone is breaking any of God’s commandments and teaching others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven <least = lost> (Matt 5:19)
8. No one can obey God’s Law producing the fruit of obedience of ourselves and unless we abide in Jesus we can do nothing (John 15:4-10)

Paul affirms the Ten Commandments……

1. Paul teaches God's people keep the Sabbath Hebrews 4.
2. Paul tells gentiles that "what matters is KEEPING the Commandments of GOD" 1 Cor 7:19
3. Paul tells gentiles "it is not the HEARERS of the Law that are just before God but the DOERS of the Law will be justified... on the day when according to my GOSPEL God will judge all mankind" Rom 2:13-16
4. Paul asks that gentiles consider the doctrine of LAW "Do we then make void the LAW of God by our faith? God forbid! In fact we establish the Law of God" Rom 3:31
5. Paul tells ALL Christians that it is only the lost who will "not subject themselves to the Law of God neither indeed CAN they" Rom 8:6-8
6 Paul reaches all Christians under the NEW Covenant that God's LAW as known in Jer 31:31-33 is "written on the heart and mind" Heb 8:7-11
7. Paul tells all Christians that the OT text is to be used for Doctrine 2Tim 3:16
AND He never claims that "if I did not write it -- it is not scripture for us today" -- as one or two have imagined for us.
8. Paul tells all Christians that the 5th commandment is the "FIRST commandment with a promise" Eph 6:1-2 and is binding on all Christians.
9. God's Law (10 commandments) are holy, just and good (Rom 7:12)
10. God's Law gives us a knowledge of what sin is (Rom 3:20; 7:7)
11. The penalty of breaking God's Law without Jesus is death (Rom 6:23)
12. If we break God's Law we dishonor God (Rom 2:23)
13. If we sin we are "under the Law" and guilty before God (Rom 3:19)
14. We are saved by faith but our faith establishes the Law in us (Rom 3:31)
15. If we are saved by grace we should not break God's Law (Rom 6:1-7)
16. We should not break God's Law if we are under grace (Rom 6:15)
17. We are to serve the Law of God through the mind because that is where sin starts (Rom 6:17; 7:25; 8:4; 12:2)
18. It is God's Law that brings us to Jesus (Gal 3:24)
19. God's salvation frees us from sin so we can be obedient to God's Law and live a life of holiness (Rom 6:22)
20. We will be judged by God's Law and only those that are obedient will be justified because of their faith (Rom 2:4-13)
21. God's Law can only be obeyed through love and a changed heart which comes by faith in God's Word (Rom 2:21-29; 13:9-10; Heb 8:9-10)
22. If we break God's Law and are in unrepentant sin we will be lost and will received God's judgements (Heb 10:26-27)

John affirms the 10 commandments……

1. John says it is only by keeping God’s 10 commandments that we know that we know God (1 John 2:3)
2. If someone says that they know God and do not keep God’s 10 commandments they are lying and not telling the truth (1 John 2:4)
3. We should purify ourselves as Jesus is pure (1 John 3:3)
4. Sin is the breaking of God’s 10 commandments (1 John 3:4)
5. Whoever is abiding in Christ does not commit sin (1 John 3:6; John 15:4-10)
6. If you are in unrepentant sin you have not seen Jesus or know him (1 John 3:6)
7. John warns us that only those that are obedience to God’s Law are his true followers (1 John 3:7)
8. If someone is committing unrepentant sin they are following the devil and not God (1 John 3:7)
9. If you are born of God and abiding in him you will not commit sin (1 John 3:9; 1 John 3:6; John 15:4-10
10. It is the keeping of God’s commandments that is the difference between those that are following God and those that are not following God (1 John 3:10; 1 John 5:3)
11. It is only by Love through faith that we can keep God’s commandments (1 John 5:3-4)
12. God’s true believers in the end days will keep all of God’s commandments through faith in Jesus (Rev 14:12; 22:14)

James also affirms the 10 commandments…….

1. James says God’s Law (10 commandments) are a Royal Law (James 2:8)
2. If we break one of God’s commandments we a guilty before God as sinners breaking all of God’s Law and gave some examples of breaking God’s Law (James 2:9-11)
3. James says God’s Law is a law of liberty and freedom (James 2:12)
4. The 10 commandments (God’s Law) are the standard in the judgment (James 2:12)
5. If our faith does not have the fruit of obedience to God’s Law it is dead and not true faith (James 2:16-26)

Peter affirms the 10 commandments……..

1. Sanctification is to obedience to God’s Law (1 Pet 1:2)
2. We can only be changed from sin to obedience to God’s Law by the power of God and it will be revealed in the last days (1 Pet 1:5)
3. We should give up our sins to be holy because Jesus is holy (1 Pet 1:13-16)
4. Jesus is your example who did no sin (1 Pet 2:21-22)
5. Cease from sin and do not live in the flesh (1 Pet 4:1-3)
6. Judgement will begin at the house of God and sinners (those breaking God’s 10 commandments) will not be saved.
7. God has given us his precious promises and as we believe them God will grant us his divine power to live a life of Godliness (obedience to God’s Law; 2 Pet 1:2-4)
8. The Un-Godly (disobedient to God’s Law) will be like Sodom and Gomorrah (2 Pet 2:6)
9. If any turn away from God’s Law and are in unrepentant sin breaking any of God’10 commandments they will be lost (2 Pet 2:20-22)
10 God is not willing that any should perish but that everyone should come to repentance and turn away from sin to follow God’s 10 commandments because those that do not will receive the judgements of God (2 Pet 3:5-14)

I see some people do not know what made up the OLD COVENANT laws and their purpose in both the OLD and NEW COVENANT and therefore think God's LAW has been abolished when it is only th SHADOW laws from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT and not God's ETERNAL LAW that gives us a KNOWLEDGE of what sin is when broken (Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; James 2:11; 1 John 3:4)

CAN'T HAVE A GOSPEL WITHOUT THE LAW

I believe the role of God's LAW is to give us a KNOLEDGE of good and evil; SIN and RIGHTOUESNESS. Nothing more and nothing less. They are our duty of LOVE to God and man. They show us that all we can do without Jesus is sin and that we are all sinners in need of a Saviour.

*If God's LAW is ABOLSHED then we no longer have any KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is.
*If we have no KNOWLEDGE of what sin is and that we are sinners we ahve no need of a Saviour
*If we have no need of a Saviour then we have no Salvation
*If we have no Salavtion then we are still in our sins and the scriputure is fulfilled...

ROMANS 2:12-13 [12], For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; [13], For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

My thoughts is that we are NOT SAVED by God's 10 Commandments. Their purpose is to give us a KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is and to lead us to the Cross so that we might be justified by faith (Galatains 3:23-24). The ROLE of God's LAW is to give us a KNOWLEDGE of good and evil; SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS (Romans 3:20; Psalms 119:172; James 2:11 Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4). In the NEW COVENANT God's LAW is to be written on our hearts as we are born again to LOVE and LOVE is the fulfilling of God's LAW in those who BELIEVE God's WORD (Hebrews 8:10-12; Romans 13:8-10; Matthew 22:36-40; 1 John 3:3-10; John 3:3)

What are your thoughts? ARE God's 10 Commandments ABOLISHED like some think and no longer the standard for Christian living?

May God bless you as we seek him through his WORD
Without the law it is impossible to sin.

is this the will of the Father?
John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:21
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 15:10
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

is this the will of the Father?
John 14:15

Corinth77777:
[And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.John 6:40

If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:21]

Corinth77777:
This is a statement of fact...

It's not saying if you love me do this for me...

Rather
Interpreted as the source of the keeping is the loving

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Corinth77777:
Love /knowledge is an interactive relationship.
Therefore, if I have a relationship with Him it makes me want to do what He wants[keep His commandments]

Recall 1 John 2:4

"He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."

Now why do you think this is? It's because this is what truly knowing[having a relationship],coming in contact with Him will make you want to do. [Keep his commandments]

That's why the scripture:

Gal 5:6

"For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love."

I am trying to understand what your saying. Are you saying that the 10 Commandments are not a requirement for Christians today or are they?

The 10 Commandments are a Requirement of Christians today in the aspect, they were never done away with.

The Requirement aspect of the 10 Commandments with regard to the Christian, a Christians Salvation is not dependent upon the keeping of them, having had them Fulfilled and then Applied to our heart, we in essence have kept them In Christ.

Our Salvation is by Grace through Faith, not in the keeping of the Law.

We are dead to the Law of Sin and Death.

John 14;31 also confirms usage:
But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

The meaning :
5083. threw tereo, tay-reh'-o
"will keep"

Synonym

5083 expresses watchful care and is suggestive of present
possession, 5442 indicates safe custody and often implies assault
from without; 5083 may mark the result of which 5442 is the means.

from teros (a watch; .; to guard ., , by keeping the eye upon; .. to note (. to maintain); ., hold fast, keep.

The Ten Commandments are far inferior to Christ's standards for Christian living.

Someone perfectly keeping the Ten Commandments is nowhere close to meeting Christ's standards.

The Pharisees whom Jesus cursed were keeping the Ten Commandments.

The person who perfectly keeps the Ten Commandments is failing miserably at being a Christian.

All of God's righteous laws are eternal (Psalms 119:160), so none of them have been abolished. Sin is disobedience to any of God's commands, not just 10 of them. In 1 John 3:4, it doesn't specify that it is speaking only about ten of God's laws.

So how do you handle Hebrews 8?

Without the law it is impossible to sin.

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.
Romans 5:19

Adam sinned without the law.

For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law. Romans 2:12

Adam sinned without the law.

Adam had a law, a single law...which he broke.
