Everyone I've ever known who says stuff like that has all kinds of problems that they wouldn't have if they knew those things they say are so useless.

I haven't then again I grew up seeing my day who never graduated high school always with good jobs and now his own vending business which is doing well enough he isn't hurting for a thing

Maybe I'm wrong for beliving children should learn basic math (unless they plan on doing somthing the requires more) basic science (same as math) history and to be self sufficient with general knowledge of healthcare ie cpr signs and treatments when a doctor and medicine are not near by

Its also important to note MOST people who grow up as builders GENERALLY have a family history of it or at LEAST a parent or grandparent who builds

Trying to force information that only benifits a few seems illogical to me when they all could be thought skills that are useful for all humans to know such as farming welding sowing cooking hunting etc

For the little Slackers and their families which wish for them not to at least get (a basic education) their future probably will not be the brightest.

Every year my wife a school teacher has a few in her classroom. Some will smarten up later, while others won't.

Most people in a technological society do need at least basic algebra.

If the school system is going to keep someone for 12 years, they should teach them enough math to at least calculate the cost and number of tiles they'd need to buy to cover a room.

Let me clarify when I say algebra I mean like in this photo are you really telling me this is needed for everyone

If welders and farmers can't do that themselves and intend to run a business, then they need to get someone else do it for them.

Because that level of math is part of welding and farming.

Of course, they teach it wrong to people who will be welders and farmers, and most learn to do it outside of school.
