Is the PCUSA commone in the south?Bulldog said:Hello seed,
Many of the liberal churches/individuals, mainly in the PUCUSA, are not very "Reformed". Unfortunatly, they are "Presbyterian" in only that they follow the Presbyterian form of governmentOne can go to numerous PCUSA churches and find Arminianism being promoted. In fact, the PCUSA says on their website that they do not believe in Biblical inerreny, which contradicts traditional Reformed doctrine.
God Bless

PCUSA is liberal, the others conservative.

Let's not overgeneralize about PCUSA, which has churches throughout the US. Many churches fit the "liberal" mold, to be sure, but by no means all. Some are very conservative theologically and teach reformed doctrine quite clearly.
Here's what it says on the PCUSA website:Bulldog said:In fact, the PCUSA says on their website that they do not believe in Biblical inerreny, which contradicts traditional Reformed doctrine.

Aye, thanks for the clarification.Donny_B said:Here's what it says on the PCUSA website:
What do Presbyterians believe about the Bible? We believe that through it God speaks to us--that it is inspired. For some, that means the Bible is inerrant. For others, it means that even though the Bible is culturally conditioned and not necessarily factual or even always true, it breathes with the life of God. In their limited ways, the ancients grasped something of the infinite that we need to hear and dialogue with today.

For me, I am part of the "some" rather the "others"...I am a Young Earth Creationist, so you know I believe in biblical inerrancy. I understand that there are many evolutionists even in the PCA, who you would have to classify among the "others", since they don't believe in the first part of Genesis.
By the way, this was written by David Robert Ord who studied at the San Francisco Theological Seminary and has now left the PCUSA to become a Unitarian Universalist...![]()

I don't know what this is still doing on the web site, though![]()
RPC is properly the RPCNA. There have been conversations over the years with the PCA, but they have been unable to come to terms on the issue of exclusive use of the Psalms in worship. (The RPCNA position.)rmwilliamsll said:i thought RPC merged with PCA.
or is that RPNA???
