It is good to be able to explain what we believe though if someone asks something sincerely. My family for example asks me questions - not to convince me otherwise, but to understand. They may ask "why", but not in an antagonistic way. They appreciate honest answers. I think that is important as well, though it isn't necessarily apologetics. We don't need to convince anyone, but we should know our faith.

yeah, my folks were like that as well. just be patient and pray, and remember God knows what He is doing with those outside of the Church as well. my family really opened up to Orthodoxy more when they saw my wedding.

My parents loved the wedding service as well. The service text has so much meaning, especially for anyone who believes in the importance of scripture!

My favorite time where I saw God opening up my parents to Orthodoxy was one of the Bridegroom Matins services. My dad came by himself, and said that the service was so meaningful, and he understood why I would want to be Orthodox. Also, a very encouraging time was the Agape Vespers this past year. My Mom, Dad, Aunt, Uncle, cousin, her son and my Grandma all came....it was so wonderful to share Christ's resurrection with my family!
