No. I was raised Christian and went to a C of E school but I never took much notice of it.

I was far more interested in dinosaurs and Buck Rogers.
My mistake then.

Sorry about that!

Does anyone know if Baggins is still around? Or Jane the Bane?
I had a discussion with Jane the bane on one thread since I've been back. I think I've been back since February

I agree with you about Obamacare.... And yet, helping the less fortunate is a christian principal, it is showing love and compassion to others who most need it
Helping the less fortunate is a Christian principle. Socialized medicine and government run health care is something else entirely. Programs like medishare can work if they are properly administered by cutting the overhead from bloated insurance companies. It's disingenuous to ascribe political leanings to Christians. There are liberal Christians, conservative Christians and the whole spectrum in between. We may agree that people need health care, but forcing people to buy insurance from providers who give kickbacks to politicians is simply feeding the corruption. The federal government cannot be trusted with health care. A free market system with a state supervised catastrophic care provision for the uninsured or underinsured allows for free market solutions where people can get better care for less money. Jesus instructed us to care for the por. He didn't say we should trust big government crooks to do so.

The thing is one can't call something research when the ICR has flatly stated that no answer that is not 'goddidit' will be returned.

If I said I'm going to research into your finances but I've already concluded that you are guilty of wire fraud then you would be justified in saying that my 'research' was simply a waste of time.

How is that any different than your bias against certain groups
without reviewing the data?

Shall I tell you why they don't? because some very influential people are making far too much money to allow things to change, they will spread lies to a gullible population (there will be death panels and it's socialism so it will destroy your freedom) without a second thought for their welfare, all they are interested in is making money.

That doesn't relieve a person of their responsibility concerning their own health and financial well being.

Perhaps you are right but why does this only seem to be a problem in the US? all the other countries went through what the US is going though now and came up with an answer that suited 95% of the people in their country, are you saying it's beyond the US to sort this health problem out? why don't they look to other countries for an answer? look to countries who have been there and have got the T shirt.

Gullibility or itching ears?

Why do you think they don't take that attitude in the rest of the civilised world where they have health systems that cover every citizen? but we know it's why Americans will be dying needlessly by the tens of thousands every year for the foreseeable future, it's pretty obvious that Americans could not care less about their fellow Americans.
