Anyone taking abilify what do you think of it?

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Mitsy said:I agree I really like it I have been stable for a year wondering if I will ever have manic episodes again kinda liked them got a lot done but we all no where a maic episode leads not to a very good place. I would usually have a manic break and I don't want to end up in Psych hospital again. Even though I met many neat people and got a lot of help. Thanks for responding. I was on Seroquel which was so sedating know I have been on the abilify for about 3 months so far so good no bad side effects for me. I feel normal for the first time in a long time. blessings to all!

Yes, it has given me good results so far with this latest mixed episode. I wish I had started it as soon as the symptoms started cause I would have avoided a lot of suffering and doing and saying a lot of stupid things that I wish I could take back...I have been taking Abilify for more than 2 years and found that it has good results - better than any anti psychotic I have been on before.
I did increase in weight and I also suffered insomnia from it. (I going off Abilify soon as it did not cover all my symptoms.)
I wish you the very best with this drug.
