I haven't read the entire posts yet, but I thought I'd also share that I'm a lego fan myself :)
Oddly enough, as I was walking back from a friend's place last night, I happened upon a store that had legos at %50 off! I just hope I remembered whereabouts it was, and that I get some money/a job soon, so I can grab some ;)
Planning to attempt to do some stop-motion stuff with those...

Wow that's nice. One of the official sets? The outer panels really do a fine job of puting a skin over the technic frame. I love the battery power; does it go fast? :D

I personally haven't built any of the larger technic models, though I think it would be a ton of fun to try. I do have a Formula 1 Racer set I put together that's made in a model team style (don't know if it's still called that), but it does have some functionality in the steering. I definitely had a good time building that one.

no thats all my design. i took a couple ideas from an official kit. and yes it does go pretty fast. if it picked up speed and hit a wall, it could cause itself a good amount of damage. it was pretty hard figuring out how to to put the panels on the outside, especially the panels in fromt of the rear tires. either they were flat, or at about a 45 degree angle, and i needed them to be right between the two. the hardest pard though were the doors. since my car didnt have a roof, i had to make them pivot up and rotate outward all in one smooth motion. and it is a lot of fun when i make something work the way i want without using to many parts. its really satisfying.

my little brother is way into legos! he builds all sorts of stuff with 'em! he likes building spaceships and cars and stuff like that, but on my birthday, he used the blocks to stack and make a three-demensional happy birthday sign for me! it was adorable!
