If we assume that G-d is good or glorious, then the heavens must be just as glorious. And they are. In most translations of the Bible, the first sentence of the Bible reads:

In the beginning G-d created the heaven and the earth. Gen 1:1

The Hebrew word for heaven is shamayim, and the word for 'the heavens' is

hashamayim
השמים

hashamayim (the heavens)
השמים
5. ה He 5
21. ש Shin 300
13. מ Mem 40
10. י Yud 10
24. ם Mem-sofit 600

In Paleo-Hebrew pictorial language, the expression is represented as follows

The meaning of these pictograms is

Pictographically, the expression

the heavens
hashamayim

means

See/Behold (He)
Destruction/Devastation (Shin)
Water (Mem Yud Mem)

More precisely

See/Behold, the works of Your hand are destroyed/devastated by water

And G-d looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And G-d said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. Gen 6:12-13 .17

The name Noah consists of the two letters

Noach
נח
4. נ Nun 50
8. ח Chet 8

Pictographically in Paleo-Hebrew

with the meaning of

The name Noah in ancient Hebrew pictograms means LIFE goes out.

At the same time, however, the name also refers to G-d's GRACE.

Noah read backwards means chen, grace.

chen (grace)
חן
8. ח Chet 8
14. נ Nun 50

And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. Gen 9:11

Grace point forward, Noah and the destruction of the flood points backward.

Therefore, we can also see G-d's grace in the heavens, that there will never again be such destruction by water

I do set my bow in the cloud, 9:13a

G-d's Sign of the covenant is the bow or rainbow, Hebrew qesheth

qesheth (bow)
קֶשֶׁת
19. ק Qoph 100
21. ש Schin 300
22. ת Tav 400

Paleo-Hebrew

So, G-d's covenant, the bow (qesheth) means

Look to the HORIZON after the DESTRUCTION and you will see G-d's SIGN

I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. Gen 9:13

The rainbow is an atmospheric optical phenomenon that is perceived as a circular band of colored light in a rain wall or cloud illuminated by the sun.

While we look up,

And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: Gen 9:14

G-d looks down upon His sign

And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between G-d and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. Gen 9:16

And indeed, the bow is stretched UPWARD, and if one imagines an arrow, this arrow is directed toward G-d and not toward the earth.

And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. Gen 9:15

This is how the story of Noah and the flood is told to us in the ancient Hebrew pictograms in the Hebrew word for the heavens in Genesis 1:1.
