I used to be a WoFer, but now rest in the Sovereignty of God and never doubt my salvation. I used to think it was all my faith that mattered...No I see it is all about Him.

I used to believe in the health and wealth prosperity, but still had illnesses and we were pretty broke. Now, I believe in God's will be done and my health is improving and he is blessing us more now than ever. Does it mean He can't take it away tomorrow? No, it means Thy will be done.

If you were a WoFer and don't adhere to this gospel anymore, please share what made you decide to not follow this belief anymore?

Was it a book? Online message boards?;)

I'll make a prediction! This thread will form like this:

1. People will say they are WOF.

2. Then others will say its a cult

3. Then WOF will reply it isn't and ask what doctrines are.

4. Then they will say JDS or God Faith

5. Then WOF will reply wtih scriptures supporting doctrines.

6. Then Anti-WOF will call it a cult again

7. Then WOF will ask why? Considering scripture was given.

8. Then Benny Hinn & Copeland will be brought up. Called Heritics

9. Then WOF will reply that even Luther, Calvin, and others were viewed this way.

10. Makeup of Thread will be like every other anti-wof thread and pointless

Here.. I'll help. Here is step 1.

I am WOF. God pays all my bills, I have great health, beautiful baby and wife. Hes putting my wife and I both through college and we have food on the table every night. Why? Because his "will be done" because he states he will provide all these things. I am bold and confident in my prayers because I know he hears me and what I ask will be given because its in His Will(Word). I didn't need to pray that "his will" be done when my back was healed from ripped muscles. I didn't need to crucify Christ twice.

Right off the bat I have to question if you were ever WOF since your opening comments reveal you do not know what we believe....

I used to believe in the health and wealth prosperity, but still had illnesses and we were pretty broke.
Again I have to question if you were ever WOF since Jesus said if you believe you receive. I also have had struggles... but the Word of God is still true... and that fact is the foundation of all WOF teaching. The Word of God is true regardless of what we see, feel, think, or experience.

Now, I believe in God's will be done and my health is improving and he is blessing us more now than ever. Does it mean He can't take it away tomorrow? No, it means Thy will be done.
So lets get to the meat of the matter. If I can dertermine the will of God for me from His Word... then I can say "thine will be done"... not from a position of doubt, but from a position of faith.

If you were a WoFer and don't adhere to this gospel anymore, please share what made you decide to not follow this belief anymore?

It was likely a lack of knowledge of what the will of God is for all of us as clearly defined in the Bible.

I asked because you are blessed and prosper and are healthy not only by asking GOd. You must also warfare for it because you know Satan is going to try and steal whatever happiness you have. I was too raised by two worlds actually one side witchcraft and the other a steadfast WOF preacher father, the church hurt me pretty bad because of a few mistakes I made at sixteen that most people would see as harmless. I left it and too called it a cult until God called me back and I started operating under the gifts.. I have seen too many things now to denounce them as a cult. So I asked about the warfare to learn if you were fighting for your inheritance. A good book to read on warfare but not deliverance is if satan cant steal your joy by jerry savelle.

I was also wondering what the WOF church did to hurt you because I have been there but they all are not like that.

I started this thread to only see if someone was like me who realized Wof was not the belief they wanted to adhere to any longer. So, I will only speak to those people on this thread. There are plenty other posts I am on if you want to talk to me about this.

In response to Gailmac's 1st post -I use to belong to the wof or word of faith movement and got out about 2 yrs ago, after discovering the false doctrines they believe. The doctrine that got me out of the Wof( Word of Faith) movement was the doctrine about < Jesus becoming a sinner better known as the JDS doctrine(Jesus died spiritually)as it is called. The wof also believes that Jesus became a demonic being. When I found out about that and heard many of the faith teachers teaching this doctrine, I fled the WOf. I know of cults and non -believers how has more respect for Jesus than these people.

I have never heard such garbage in my life.. what a falsehood. The WOF does not teach that, at least the churches I have been to Im wondering where you learned such information and you cannot lump all movements churches together. For instance some southern baptists are loonies and others are nice and normal.

This is true that all can not be lumped together. We are talking about the teachings from Hagin, Hinn, Copeland, etc.

These are the Big Daddy WoF and many Christians around the world get to hear this garbage...this is the kind of stuff the WoF have taught.

LITTLE GODS http://www.watchman.org/reltop/unbiblcl.htm

Gloria Copeland, Kenneth Copeland's wife, stated in The Believer's Voice of Victory that, "when God breathed the breath of life into Adam, He transmitted His very self into him. God imparted the same spiritual substance of which He is made into Adam's being" (Believer's Voice of Victory, June, 1986, p. 10).

In his sermon tape, Following the Faith of Abraham, Kenneth Copeland teaches that God created Adam a god (having the same attributes as God Himself): "And Adam is as much like God as you can get, just the same as Jesus when He came into the earth. And I want you to know something ¾ Adam in the garden of Eden was God manifested in the flesh." We now see that Brigham Young of Mormonism isn't the only one who has taught the Adam-God theory (Deseret News, 16 June 1973), but also Kenneth Copeland. (parenthesis mine).

In The Force of Love, another sermon tape, Kenneth Copeland states, "You don't have a god in you, you are one."

Kenneth Hagin in Word of Faith says, "You are as much the incarnation of God as Jesus Christ was. Every man who has been born again is an incarnation and Christianity is a miracle. The believer is as much an incarnation as was Jesus of Nazareth" (December 1980, p. 14).

Earl Paulk of the Harvester Church in Atlanta, Georgia, in his work, Satan Unmasked, explains it like this: "Adam and Eve were placed in the world as the seed and expression of God. Just as dogs have puppies and cats have kittens, so God has little gods; we have trouble comprehending this truth. Until we comprehend that we are little gods, we cannot manifest the kingdom of God" (p. 97).

In his book Agony of Deceit, Michael Horton has documented Kenneth Copeland in a 19 July 1987 crusade as saying, "I say this and repeat it so it don't upset you too bad. When I read in the Bible where He (Jesus) says, I AM, I say, Yes, I am too!" (p. 268). In John 8:58, I AM is a self proclamation of Jesus' own unique Deity from Exodus 3:14, 15.

Dave Hunt, in his book Seduction of Christianityity, documents Casey Treat, pastor of Seattle's Christian Faith Center, as saying in his tape series Believing in Yourself that we're exact duplicates of God. "I'm an exact duplicate of God! When God looks in the mirror He sees me! When I look in the mirror, I see God! Oh, hallelujah! You know, sometimes people say to me, when they're mad and want to put me down. You just think you're a little god. Thank you! Hallelujah! You got that right! Who'd you think you are, Jesus? Yep!...Are you listening to me? Are you kids running around here acting like gods? Why not? God told me to! Since I'm an exact duplicate of God, I'm going to act like God!"

One of WOF's proof texts for them being little gods is Psalms 82:6. If one looks carefully, it is apparent that God is mocking the judges (gods) who had perverted justice. He (God) says, "I say ye are gods, nevertheless, you will die as mere men" (vss. 6 & 7). This is the same proof text the Mormons use to say one can become a god.

It is also a contradiction that if one is a god that one should die as a man. God is mocking and in a real sense condemning those that would arrogantly try to lift themselves to such status.

As is seen with Casey Treat, another problem with WOF teachers is their misunderstanding of the meaning of man being made in the image of God. To use Treat's own illustration of looking in the mirror, when one does look, what one sees is one's own reflection. The image is not reality. The image is only a reflection of one's reality. One reflects God's image (some of His qualities) but one is not God.

Granted that man is the apex of God's creation and as such is completely different from the rest of creation, but being God's image does not mean that one is a little god. Humans are not divine by nature. God is divine. "Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods." (Galatians 4:8, also see Isaiah 1:6-11, 43:10, 44:6; Gen. 1:26, 28, 3:4-5; Ezekiel 28:2; Psalm 8:6-8).

Well, good, now you can see what garbage has really been taught and not just taught to a small church, but spread to the whole world.

In response to Lottedah.
Friend I am not talking about individual Wof churches because I have nt been to all of them (obviously) but I am talking about the Wof teachers who are on television such as (Kenneth Hagin, Frederick Price, and especially Kenneth Copeland). These teachers (kenneth hagin, Copeland, Frederick price etc.) are on a audio tape call ``Christianity in Crisis'saying these blasphemies. If you dont believe me, call in the bible answer broadcast and Mr haanegraaf will probably play it on the air for you. Friend, i would never accuse someone of saying something as outrageous as "Jesus became a demonic being and a sinner etc.." if it were not true. Kenneth Copeland especially teaches this. I have been in the Wof movement for 13yrs and I'm telling you, i was just a stubborn and refused to believe that they taught that until i read it on Rev. liichow website and heard these teachers on "Christianity In Crisis" audio tape myself! If you done believe listen to the tapes and you'll recognize their voices. Again I am not saying all Wof churches teach this, but I do know Hagin, Copeland and Price teach this. This is what I mean when I say the Wof.

I think they are joking about being literal Gods. They are trying to say they are made in Gods image. All christians are trying to obtain the heart of David, a man with a pure heart for God and his will. And I think they mean by operating in the gifts of the spirit we are to personify GOd. Compared to the people of the world who dont know GOd, we are the only PR people he has. And I believe they mean you have to emulate God, be love, pray for healings, speaklife to people because every word that leaves your mouth is an agreement with GOd or the Devil. If you say im dying, you might end up dying because a demon is dispatched. So I think they are talking about emulating God, following jesus' commandments to the church and such like cast out demons, heal the sick and so forth. I do not think they mean we are demonic deities like the roman gods of old.

I have to disagree with you. These Wof'ers (Hagin, Copeland, Price and especially Benny Hinn) do believe that they are gods and they are not joking. I believe Gailmac's post above about them believing they are gods, because I for one have heard Kenneth Hagin say that we are as much of an incarnation as Jesus was. And trust me Hagin was not saying this as a joke. I heard he got this doctrine from a man name EW kenyon.

I believe you some of them say the wackiest things. But the churches I have been involved with do not. So you should say some WOF leaders. Because it is not all a heresy.
Glad to hear you're not at one of these churches sister ;)

I have Benny Hinn on video saying we are little Gods.

If you want to see "some of these" WOF on video speaking falsely, you can get:

These you can hear online:

For all of you who doubt what I am saying, please get these and then come back and tell me how blessed you were by these false men poisoning the body of Christ.
