• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I have had RA for 3 1/2 years now. I control it with Orincia. Previously I took Enbrel but had to stop because I have a neurological problem.

I don't have too much joint damage, only the left hand and right foot.

Just be thankful you got the disease in the last 15 years since the biologic drugs where developed. They control the damage and the pain.

My grandmother had RA 35 years ago and was badly crippled by it.

I have it. I got diagnosed 3 years ago. Not flaring right now thank God. It is very hard to find people that understand. My friends and family care and try to be supportive but they just have no idea. I try not to think about the future too much. I try to just enjoy the fact that im feeling ok at the moment. I try to exercise and eat healty and be in the best shape possible. Three years ago when I got diagnosed I was very overweight. I also couldnt walk because of problems with my back and had to use a cane. I am only 33 years old and a mother of two young boys. So I lost 85 lbs and got therapy for my back. I still have some problems but I am in a LOT better health now than I was three years ago.

Arthritis is usually the result of poor aging. Anti-aging is a huge industry because it is the closest form to the fountain of youth. The leading cause of aging is oxidation of tissue. Antioxidants, found in fruits and vegetables, are a great way to slow down the oxidation process, thus slowing the aging process as well. You can visit my Antioxidant Discount Blog to read more about anti-aging and antioxidants.
