Hey there, you set that to hidden as well. If you go HERE there is a block called Profile Privacy. There is a set of tickboxes in there, one selected will say gender. Untick that, and it will show your gender icon for you.

can someone please tell me where the "OLD" blog section went, i had over 1000 posts or journals in there my thoughts and feelings and pain, where did it all go? there were 2 of them they needed to be split? if they are not coming back can you transfer them over to the new blog section, eventhough i like the old one much better

I don't get it.

I recently had a thread get moved to "unorthodox theology" because it was starting to discuss beliefs that ran contrary to the site's "statement of faith." Supposedly. However, the only statement of faith I can find is the Nicene creed. Nothing that was discussed was running contrary to the Nicene creed per se. However, I can't even find anything that was running contrary to "mainstream evangelical Christianity." I'm sure that category is big enough to encompass the question of whether Jesus knows the date of his return. Am I missing something here? Or did the moderator err?

When I come on CF, I have to search for it to see if anyone has posted there. I think with it hidden, people either think it was removed or they think that no one is posting there anymore.

This is an issue that we have with some users, but we try to fix it as soon as possible.

Yes, they are subject to the the same things that normal members are, but also are held accountable to different things - ie, to a higher standard of the rules and to staff conduct/code and regulations in moderator behaviour, etc.
There are no special 'exceptions' because you are on staff or anything like that.

I noticed that one of the ads frequently placed on the traditional SDA forum is this one..

Good News for Adventists | For the Gospel

As you can readily see—this is a direct attack on the beliefs of the SDA church. It even implies that we do not know or preach the gospel of Jesus Christ! I am aghast at this violation of the CF rules listed below and the outright LIES told on the site about us.

I am asking that this complaint be taken to the owner of this site and that ad be pulled from the same. I’m wondering how this ad would have been accepted if it attacked the baptists and the catholics in the same manner?

Hey there,

I know i'm not tonks, but i can shed some light on this.

The ad's that you see are controlled by google, which trawls our pages and searches for keywords relevant to the content being displayed on the page. this is then sent to google, which generates an ad for the page. Since you are in the SDA forum, SDA keywords will be pulled up.

This will cause the ad to be displayed, recurringly, by the sound of it.

As part of CF's contract with google, we cant actually discuss ad's on the open forums. However.... you can copy the address of the picture of the ad - right click on it, select properties, then go down to image address and copy that.

you can then send this via PM to Pauler, the owner of the forums, and he will get rid of the ad's - he's the only one who can do this, as he has the contract with google.

Yeah, some people are beyond belief... I remember back before i was on staff, i was just browsing through the forums rather late at night, and came across a debate on gay marriage.... Lo and behold, there was an ad advertising gay marriage services! That was the highlight of my day.

As for picking the ads...we (he, I etc) don't specifically pick which ads to show...they're automatically served via keywords. This, unfortunately, generates some bad ads at times (like the ones that display orthodox judiasm ads in the orthodox forums...lol).

Win some, lose some, i guess - thankfully, we get pretty decent ones most of the time. I just wish the javascript that chose them was faster...
