• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I work from 10 to 9 Mon-Fri. just to make ends meet. I have to ask for a day off to be at home for home visits. I am now faced with outpatient treatment which I will have to ask for a day off every week for 8 weeks. My mother has alzheimer's as well. Jail is rough I admit, but this I am really having difficulty with trying to keep my job and not have to quit it in order to comply with probation.

I can pray for you.

My questions would be, if you chose to do jail time instead of probation would your job still be there? Outpatient treatment can help us learn more about ourselves. Would you be able to learn more about you through treatment or jail? I know it's a struggle, but what is the better choice for you in the long run? Can you get the day off - maybe pick up some extra hours once you finish with treatment?

I've been through 13 months of drug court, endless urine tests, having my kids taken away, I think I know some of what you're going through. I hated the judge, and the whole business during the process. But now, 5 years later, I'm grateful to have gone through all that. Made me a much better person.

I'll pray for you.
