The mission's only purpose was to capture, dominate, and control something.
They considered enemy lives expendable. No resources were available, or offered, to accommodate prisoners.
If you don't have that planned and funded, it just represents an obstacle to the domination mission.
Perhaps because they watched their fellow soldiers being slaughtered in the beach attack out in the open, while the Germans were sitting nice and cozy in bunkers and trenches above the beach, so they snapped and gloated on it......?Why did they shoot the men with their hands up......and then laughed about it?
(great moovie...i had forgotten that part...)
There will always be a few nut cases that fall thru the cracks,....that can be in just about any organization, including the military and government...IMHOThey were going to just kill, one way or the other then? Laughing about it really sets the scene and highlights just how expendable the ones to be shot were, doesn't it? They were in essence, sent out on a "killing mission" to "exterminate" all targeted ones whether it was necessary or not?
One wonders if that mind-set becomes addictive and traits of it are showing up in our police forces (especially if the officers have been in the military).
Good responses.......The mission's only purpose was to capture, dominate, and control something.

Yeah, in a different setting. They were going to just kill, one way or the other then? Laughing about it really sets the scene and highlights just how expendable the ones to be shot were, doesn't it? Well, I am trying to be nice to them because but for the grace of God, there go I.these guys didn't snap (in the first video) they were wantonly blood thirsty, and they were laughing about shooting multiple bullets into the two men with their hands up.

Well, it is just a movie and perhaps we should ask the producer or director why that particular scene was put in.these guys didn't snap (in the first video) they were wantonly blood thirsty, and they were laughing about shooting multiple bullets into the two men with their hands up.
Yeah, in a different setting.
So the mission is traffic control, but if in my pursuing that, you make me feel scared for my life for a millisecond, I overkill you even if you're hands were in the air and you were running away from me.
No respect for life but their own.No wonder people run from the police.
They point blank assassinated this man, and right after he put his hands up.
God help us.
This video came on right after i watched the above video:
Can't put my finger on it now, but the orientation of service to self vs service to others is pretty common.would you care to elaborate in detail, the "you make me feel scared for my life for a millisecond" especially this:
"even if you're hands were in the air and you were running away from me"
noting that the one "frightening" the officer has their hands in the air and/or is running AWAY.
Thank you.
Well, I am trying to be nice to them because but for the grace of God, there go I.
I can't tell you how happy I was we lost the war in Vietnam 8 months before i had to register for the draft.
No respect for life but their own.
Yep. They were the good guys defending freedom in the eyes of most of their countrymen.yer sentiment is admirable fer these guys who shot two men in cold blood who had their hands up and then laughed over their bullet ridden bodies.
Consider gangsters aren't paid by taxpayers to protect and serve taxpayers.Gangsters assassinate people all the time. Not only each other but their victims of crime as well.
Yet no one starts a thread about that.
Not that i disagree with this thread, just that i believe we are being lead around by political special interests, and we often fail to see the big picture.
What is the bigger of the two problems? Gang violence or police brutality?
Just something to consider, i really have no opinion any more

It permeates all our behavior, and in this circumstance it is lethal.
