  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anyone else tired of the police-hate threads

Blind post:

Today's leftist/progressive thinking - Support criminals, demonize cops.
Today's self defeating, self wounding, divisive thinking - blame the other leg for holding up 'the man' that oppresses them both.

That's certainly possible...but how would you know?
By being informed who owns the media being consumed, and what their political orientation is. That's a good place to start.

I'm tired of people calling protests of police brutality as hating police. They don't hate police, they hate police brutality; and before it comes, crime committed by individuals should not supersede issues of state-sponsored violence.
Excellent point.

Tragic.

God help us.

War is tragic. Even necessary ones like WWII. Part of why most respect the military. It is a tough job that chews people up physically, mentally, and spiritually.

yes it is. I love all of our vets. i support each of them, support, defend, and advocate for these brave souls who endure inexplicable hardship and danger and then return to their country and be in wheelchairs, homeless, neglected, cast aside, forgotten and disrespected.

However the clip from the movie i was referring to was horrific and all that i said it was.

Wanton killing and then casually making a joke out of it and laughing over the bullet-ridden bodies is indefensible.

I don't think WWII was necessary.
